    • Hi I was just though Blackwell Mo. Tonight. I got on line to find information about this town. I came a cross your photos. It must be a good feeling to be a part of history like that. My dream has been to find old home sites like the Blackwell’s And search the property with a metal detector to see what I could find. If you could get me permission to look I would give you any artifacts I might find. Rich Bereswill

    • hey i live in the old hotel reaves which used to be a boarding home before. it's very old and never remodeled lol. but interesting. it's big. some things happent a while back when we tried to enter the attic and well lets just say in the 11 years that my family and i have lived here we have not been in the attic but we got a peek and it's full of lots of old interesting stuff. sometimes i think there is something wrong here cause it's spooky. weird things have have happent over the years. do you know how i could find out history on this house when it was a home to a family, before hotel reaves. oh and another interesting fact is that the first owners where a mother father and 4 boys and one girl, we are the seccond owners as far as family, and we came a mom dad, four girls and a boy. i feel we were linked to this home. so if have any info u can email me at mermerrox_2009@hotmail.co m or heck even call me at 1-573-915-4166. thank you!

    • I was wondering if you any name listings for the photos of the Bonne Terre elementary and the St Joe Lead co. I have many relatives who were born and lived down here. My great and great great grandfathers both worked at the mines. Many of my relatives went to the schools. Please let me know. Satanzbttch462@yahoo.com

    • Hi, I have pictures I would like to send to you via email of mostly Elvins and surrounding towns - circa 1930 or earlier to 1950's - including class pictures from Elvins school. I thought that you would like to post them with your others. How do I get them to you? Sherrie

We actually just returned from a trip there where we were unable to locate Jeremiahs homestead and Williams. We did find Moon Town Cemetery. Please, please, please respond to me as we would love to know how you are related and what you know about this family! We also would like better 'directions' on how to find the old cemetery and stone homestead...please email to shakingourtree@yahoo.com. THANK YOU!!!! in advance for your time and effort. Jenne

    • The picture of the Tom Thumb wedding . . . I think the little boy is David Francis. Not sure about the girl. David lived next door to us in Flat River. I lived at 301 First Street. Mike Province

    • Just found this web site today and not that familiar with navigating thru it. I lived in Elvins as a boy and was wondering if you got a reply to your blog about the movie? If you did I would like to know more about it. Paul in Florida f15eagle@alltel.net

    • find this most interesting. the pictures brought lots of memories. St Joe Lead Co at one time had a movie made about the mines and the Roseland Theatre had special showings for people in the area and the miners. I would like to know if that is still available any where. Would love to see that as many of the local resident are in that movie.
