  • How on earth did you happen to find that album of yours on someone elses Webshots page? It must have been totally by chance that you came upon it. A long time ago I found someone had put some of my photos as theirs, but not an entire album. If you do write a response to my messages be sure to put them in my "message" box, because I do check that daily. It's impossible to find a particular photo comment--unless I just happen to look at that photo during the days between newsletters. Jon

  • Sorry I'm so slow to respond to your comment about downloads, but for some reason the only way I find out if someone has left a message or comment is when I read my weekly "newsletter" that summarizes all the Webshots activity in my albums for the past week. I used to get an entry in my email whenever someone sent a message, but for some reason that no longer happens. I did go into another webshots member album and my attempt to download the photo I requested was successful, so I have no idea why you are unable to do it--even after "re-loading" the Desktop software. I would keep "bugging" Webshots technical advisors until they corrected the problem. Are you aware of the way to view "friends" photos in their "regular" size--by hovering your mouse over the bottom right of the "full size" photo until a box appears that says "view in regular size"? Of course enlarging a photo to that size doesn't allow you to see the entire photo on screen all at once, but it does allow you to see the close-up detail in some photos that I've taken with my tripod--when there wasn't any camera-shake to blur them. That message that you get, about the photo "only being available to friends", is present on my computer when I enlarge the photo to "full size" on my screen. However when I click on the "download" icon below the photo (in it's size just after you click on the thumbnail for that photo) then it immediately downloads automatically onto my desktop. Keep in touch, Jon

  • I must say your albums are certainly a lot more unique than those of other Webshots members. I don't play golf any longer (arthritis), but I must say the incredible scenery associated with playing golf is one part of it I do miss. Have a great day, Jon

  • I have to tell you that your album on Crater Lake is one of the nicest I have seen. I live about 60 miles from her in Medford Oregon and recently in the paper they were saying that they think Crater Lake is still an active volcano. I thought you might be interested in that piece of news. I have also been following some wildlife cameras in your area of the world to. I have been watching the live cameras on a Bald Eagles nest on Hornby Island. The camera is through Hancock Wildlife and a Dave Curagh has placed cameras right on the nest so we get to watch close up of the babies. There are two cameras, one is close up and the other is a wide angle so you can see the whole nest. Those birds are amazing. Again thank you for sharing your pictures of Crater Lake with the rest of the world. Kathy

  • Summer is almost over, time to enjoy last second of relax and take a stroll at a beautiful garden where Claude Monet painted his famous waterlilies! I'm celebrating half million visits so, please, join me taking a walk at Giverny, Francisca :) ---> http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/album/565586876oTdcfp

  • Hi Chuck... It sounds like you have an excellent time in store for you in the next few weeks!!! I have always wanted to visit Jasper and Banff and do exactly what you are doing!!! That would be a real slice of heaven!!! The closest I have come in identifying that rose is what I have already stated... I'll have to bring a photo into the local nursery to see if they can help... Have a great time in the Canadian Rockies!!! Mike

  • Okay... I've seen an '05, an'06, and an '07 trip... When is the 2008 trip happening??? Utah has some golf courses too!!!

    said of trout921 trout921 2008.06.20 at 12:44:13 PDT

  • I don't know Chuck... BC is a pretty spectacular place too!!! You hit the nail on the head...central Utah!!! I am within walking distance of the Provo River but there are so many other rivers...The Green, The Bear, The Virgin, The Colorado, The San Juan along with the lesser known ones like The Sevier, The Ogden, The Webber, and a bunch of others people try to get me to fish... And then there are the ponds, lakes and reservoirs... It just never ends!!! Moab gets a little too warm for me and Provo strikes a happy medium. There is a lot of fishing here, mild winters(less than 6" of snow on the ground at any time between January and February, and summer temps that don't leave you fried like southern Utah. We bought a house here two years ago but it may have seemed like I was still in NH as we still own a home there and it seemed like every time I turned around, I was back there for some reason. But you are right about Moab...it is right in the center of some beautiful places

  • Hi Chuck... I am not really sure what this rose variety is as it was here at the house in Utah when we moved in..Last year, I got one pale yellow rose from it and after giving it some TLC, it rewarded me and continues to do so with all the blooms in this album. Not having grown Floribunda roses in the past, it most closely resembles that of the hybrid tea rose "Chicago Peace". But for some strange reason, it also thows yellow blooms. It may be possible that two rose bushes have grown together as the bulb union is about 20" long and 10" wide. The fishing has been incredible here in Utah for similar reasons as well as back in New Hampshire as that state wasn't hit with heavy spring runoff and a warm spring. My buddy caught a 7# brook trout on a day that I DIDN'T bring the camera due to rain. Figures, doesn't it!!! Good to hear from you and thanks for the kind words!!! Mike
