Barbara this is another photoshop picture. Actually I took the picture of the harpist inside Bunratty Castle and Durty Nellies is one of my favorite pubs. As I was sitting at my computer the glass paperweight caught my eye and I decided it would be neat to put something in it. So I dug out my airplane photo and, using Adobe Photoshop, I place the airplances inside the globe, which by the way is approximatly 4 inches across. Thanks for your nice comment, Bill

Hi Barbara, and thanks for the lovely comment on my Gollum POTD on Good Times - totally unexpected honor for me and for him! He has been struggling with major illness and no sooner does one thing clear up or get treated (heart, kidneys) than something else goes wrong (liver). He's so young, it's hard to see him face all these challenges, but he remains cheerful and affectionate through all the needles and meds so I keep on fighting for him. ~ Brenda

Hi Barbara!! I'm thrilled for you!!! Yes, a lot of people have the D80 and I've heard nothing but wonderful things about it!! WHEEE!! I use the D40X ... I just wanted to get my feet wet, financially but also technically. Wasn't sure how long this photography bug would continue to bite. Maybe someday I'll upgrade but for now I'm very happy with what I have. I also got the 18-135 as my first lens, and it's still my go-to guy when I can't schlep a lot of lenses around with me. I love it! The 55-200 was the next one I bought and it's a great one, too!! Sooo happy for you!! A fun new toy for sure!!! Don't let the learning curve discourage you. I'm only just now beginning to understand shutter priority and manual, and I got my camera right before Thanksgiving!! I'll be by to visit your Weekend Walk shortly!! Big happy hugs .. Lois

HI Barbara, Always nice to get a nice note from you! Thanks for your kind comment on my travel POTD from yesterday. I took that shot a few weeks back while we were on vacation. We have only been to Brookings a few times, including on our honeymoon, but we had not been there in six years, so it was a real treat to get back there this summer. Randy in Vancouver

Barbara, THANK YOU soooo much for your congratulations on my hot dog potd in the news channel. I did not understand the catergory it was under until I found this information: "July is National Hot Dog Month, and according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, Americans will be consuming the infamous little red tubes of "meat" in record numbers this summer. The Council estimates that over seven billion hot dogs will be eaten by Americans between Memorial Day and Labor Day. During the July 4th weekend alone (the biggest hot-dog holiday of the year), 155 million will be downed. Every year, Americans eat an average of 60 hot dogs each.
