About Me more
Not posting as many photos as I have in the past! Am somewhat preoccupied with genealogy, missing people and having M.S. as you know. The problem of missing children is universal! BTW, hello from Bisquit and Zoe! woof! woof! Leslie

Thanks for lifting the veil over the mysteries of Americanised English, especially for us South Africans! I have since caught up with the term kazillion and have added it to my World Eglish Treasures! Luggers (love and hugs), Karl.

I plead not guilty to moving the Kazillion L.h. I can't even remember ever having had or seen it. Will investigate. L.O.L. U make a mischtake?

Thank you so much, Leslie, for your comment on my newest album, "Garvan Woodland Gardens." You were THE FIRST to come and see. This is truly a beautiful place, about 70 miles from Little Rock. There is something blooming almost year round, and even when there isn't, just the trees, bridges, waterfalls, and structures make it worth the trip. Here's the website for the gardens: http://www.garvangardens.org/.

Hi Leslie, Just thought I'd stick my head around the corner and let you know I'm still alive and well, enjoying retirement now that Dee has joined me, as you noticed spam was everywhere there for awhile so I went with the flow and blocked and deleted many aggravations, I'm still at the other place, spending as much time working the camera controls, and photoshop, Just don't know how I kept up with everything when I had a real job,, Hope this finds you well and you enjoyed your vacation away from me, was worth all the no effort on my part, I just don't get to play as much, but dear friendly people need to check in once in awhile so here I am , with a smile in hand, actually brought two since I'm so out of it, but molassas don't flow uphill in the winter, I still miss Ya! and hope there is always a reason for you to smile, at least once in awhile ! warm hugs ! Paul

hi leslie, and thanks for visiting my featured "cemeteries" album last week. i like the burial grounds in america BECAUSE they are so simple and green, but i find it a shame - like you - that they do not want flowers on the graves. if you continue to be interested in the topic, here's a new album: http://travel.webshots.com/album/575387186qixzKh . i wish you success with what you do! take care, franz

Greetings from Alaska & Thank You so much for your visit and kind comments on my POTD featured photo. I was surprised to find the announcement in my email and all of the comments are humbling. The Eagles are my favorite majestic bird. Eagles are loyal birds and mate for life so when you see a big pair it is almost always male & female occasionally it will be parent and offspring. It takes many long walks and hikes alone on very cold days to find a good shot, this picture was shot with 200mm telephoto on a winter day the temperature was -5 f. “cold fingers & toes” Again Thank You & best wishes from Alaska, Dave

Hi Leslie, thanks for commentsing on my "Lord Howe Island, Light on the Lagoon" album, I'm gladl you liked it. To answer your question about last week end's Breakfast on The Bridge, no I wasn't there, I live over 300 Km from Sydney. Interesting that you saw a news report on the event. If you're interested to know what Sydney people though of it, copy this link to your browser: http://www.smh.com.au/national/letters/keep-the-roads-for-cars-and-parks-for-picnics-20091026-hglg.html. Leslie & Zoe: Thank You for the kind words regarding my Sunday POTD - "Life's a Beach". I really appreciate it. :-) Marv (BerryMan) of Denver - The photo is scanned from a 35mm print from my old SLR. I did swim in a "less picturesque" beach (to the West?)and got "dumped" by a 3 ft. wave ... so I can imagine what the boy in the picture felt! M.

Hello Leslie,my dear long time friend here on WS.I know you haven't heard from me for a long time. Please forgive me for not visiting your awesome photos. I love your beautifully stunning photography in your beautiful albums & all what you do for the missing children, that's why I couldn't be active with this very importmant mission.I miss everyone so very much!!Not being so active on WS in the passed year is due that I was diagnosed with a Tumor in my brain along with Hydrocephilus[water on the brain]in my brain which gives me the problems of falling and symtoms of Dementia & Alzheimer due to this medical problem.I had brain surgery 3 months ago & in slow recovery.I have not driven a car and being home bound for 9 months which limits me enjoying my photography & oh how I miss using my Canon EOS 40D Camera.I try to keep my spirit up but it's difficult at times.I think about my friends here on WS all the time. Oh, how it has opened up a world of wonderful friends for me.I pray my friends do now give up on me!Thank you for all your wonderful comments and kind words for the passed years.God bless you my friend on your struggle with M.S.,I will pray for you,I think about you often. My BIG HUGS to you my lovely friend...I will be back on WS occasionally when my strength gets stronger,God willing. Take care friend:-)~Thea

Hello my Dear! Thought I'd died and gone to the other place I'll bet! Australia is starting to do it's bit in regard to missing children, current and past. I've seen a bit on TV lately. My news is sad, but hardly unexpected - Extrata has not taken up Rachel's contract again-They are not the easiest Employer to work for, and one would think that saving Staff and Families (not to mention our little Community's)lives would be enough, but apparently a lot of sucking up to their senior staff is required, and that is not how Rachel approaches her Medical commitments. So.....we'll be back in Mackay sometime in December. Have to leave Garden behind, because of the infestation of Termites in and into everything that is wood and edible - they also love my magnificent plants in huge pots,(lovely warm moist places to have nests!) so I'll have to take cuttings of those plants I don't want to lose sight of, and have a HUGMUNGOUS sidewalk sale of many possessions and all plants ! A lot of the possessions have to go because I'll have to live with Mark Rachel and boys (who are buying a lovely home at 6 Northview Gardens) until they can build on the allotment at 8 Northview Gardens. Rachel won't have the dogs in "her home" - she can't stand dog hair, pollen, nor perfume - so I'll have to spend as much time as possible in the garden with them, because they'll be confined to the large Laundry section in the evenings. Could ramble on forever, but with only a couple of months to re-assess just what I actually need for comfortable, fulfilling living, in a limited timespan of just a couple of months. The reassessing, not my lifespan!!!! I'll endeavour to sort before Rachel comes to assess things for herself!! Mark assures me most of my "ratty old things" have to be sold off, and they will buy me lovely new things, which I may live with until I die, then they will have them back-I cannot leave any of that new lot in my will!! I Must go - hugs, my dear - Margaret.

Yes Leslie, Preston Tower does look remarkably like a folly, and I suppose it is really. It was originally a defensive Tower-house but when the centuries of borders wars between Scotland and England eventually ended, half of the tower was pulled down. It was then reconstructed at less than half the original size and the clock was installed. It's an attractive building nonetheless, and has an interesting history. Richard was quite keen to tick it off his list as we have already done the other Preston Tower close to Edinburgh.

Hi Leslie, Thanks for your warm congrats for my featured album. The editors surprised me. It was fun making all those collages from approx. 300 pictures - also a lot of work like you said. I love doing it and am glad that more people now have had the opportunity to enjoy the full flavor of the market and fruits of my labor...pardon the pun. You may the tea, I'll bring the cheesecake and we will party!!! Calories - no - not in cheesecake!! Hugs to you, and Bisquit and Zoe too, from me and Brandy and Ginger

Hi Leslie, Thanks for drawing my attention to the missing word in the Pitsligo Castle album. It's nice that someone pays so much attention to detail. We have so little time these days, so that album had been sitting on the back burner for months. We have loads more photos and videos that have still to be uploaded. I am trying to put the finishing touches to one called "The Bowhill Muster 2009". We just happened to be in the area the day before the event and went back to see what it entailed. We found it highly entertaining and took several videos as well as still shots. I will try to find the time to complete it in the next couple of days. Woof woof to Zoe too.
