Apparently American Bittersweet: (Celastrus scandens )does not come west of the Rockies. This explains why I have not seen it since I was a kid in Pennsylvania.

Hi Mike, Many thanks for your kind words about Edward, after 14 years of walking 3K each morning, it is very lonely to go for my walk without him. The house is empty and seems void of love, but people have been so kind and the comforting words do help. Sorry you Kitty Kat is no longer with you but you did what I had to do with Ed and it is the kindest way for them when they are so ill. Also I would like to thank you for your lovely comment on WILLY, my old home town. It was a good album to do as it brought back a lot of memories of raising my family there. Hi Mike, so nice to have you visit and very pleased that you liked "Macro Magic".An album that was lovely to make from the bouquet from my son for Mothers' Day, with just a couple of strays in it.. As for the garden even the weeds are dying. Floods up North in Q'land & NSW. but in Victoria we continue on in our 13 year drought with water levels very low...Enough of my woes, I hope all is well with you and family and Life is treating you well. Hi Mike so nice to hear from you, I do realise that you are busy but all replies are welcome. It would be a very busy time for you with your classes etc. and trying to keep up with W/S...My son Denis is off to Canada once more end of June, last year he went to visit his sister in Canada and travelled through Pensylvania and New York. this year he is travelling across Canada by the train and will during his holiday go to Connecticut and also Vermont. He is very interested in history same as I am and especially the Civil War, arrived home last year with soldiers and cannons, T-shirts and anything that had something about it on the item. Even brought back the confed. flag. so I hazard a guess there will be more of it this year. Hope you and family are all keeping well, it is Autumn here and a warm one at that, Easter we had 30 degrees, I will welcome some cooler days and rain. Have a good spring Mike. Hugs, Shirley

Hi Mike........ Thank you for the tip on going to Middle Creek Lake. I was only going to go this week because the older gentleman that gave me the tip said I should go in the next two weeks or the Snow Geese would be gone. I will wait until Mid March on your suggestion. I am glad you like my Bald Eagle Photos. I have some nice shots from last year that I never had time to post on Webshots including the adult feeding the Eaglets. If you would like to see those, go to http://bangorphoto.fotki.com and scroll down to my Bald Eagle Album. I have them on there as a free download. I don't know if it is too far for you to drive but I take my Bald Eagle Photos in Portland, Pa. along the Delaware River. They have been nesting there for about 5 or 6 years now.
