  • Thank you for the comment on the Love Note CC entry. I appreciate it. When the roses died last week, I told my wife not to throw them out. I was not sure what I was going to do with them , but I knew I wanted to take some kind of picture. Then one day this week, They had a challenge on Light painting and I decided to do it. The first image is on my james_harmon_photos account. Last night I was sitting and thinking about this weeks challenge as my wife sat across from me working on her computer. It hit me. I jumped up and gathered the material and wrote the note I still had the flowers waiting to try something else. After I had it on my wall paper, I called my wife over to see what I had done.

  • Thanks for the comments on Chief Vann's home. This was his home. He was one of the richest Cherokee. He built it and lived in it. This was a reenactment of the 1805 first Christmas by candlelight when he invited the missionaries to his home for Christmas. He continued the tradition even though he was not a converted christian. He was killed in 1807 and his son continued to live at the home until he was put on the Trail of tears and moved to Oklahoma. His home was taken from him. You, like myself, probably had a different idea on how the Cherokee Indians lived around 1800. I have visited Chief White Path's large cabin from Ellijay and was surprised then. This was a bigger surprise. The poor indians lived in what was called Dwelling homes. These were one room log cabins. The day of the Tepee was a wild west movie thing apparently. Or a very long time ago. Chief Vann was involved in foreign trade. I plan to go back in the daylight for more pictures but for now, do a goggle search for Chief Vann's home. You will be surprised how it looks. The history in North Georgia is amazing and a big source of places to visit. Every time I turn around I find something new.

  • Space Jim to bearpair. Do you read me. What? You can't figure it out. It is common and a very clear shot of it.

  • Thanks for the comments on my creepy houses. Yes, a little photo shop type work. They all started as middle of the day sunny pictures. I have mumbled and mumbled about digital creations competing with photos and they still continue to pick digital creations. So, I decided I had to join the digital creation group. These were my first attempt at something like this. I drew my own characters in the windows right on the original photo and added moons, cloudy mist, darkening, etc, next I want to work on grave yards. I may move these to an all creepy album. I find it fun to see what I can do in the creepy picture world.... Jim

  • Thanks for your comments on my POTD from yesterday. I love the fall, but I hate the cold! It was a bit overwhelming with over 56,000 views and almost 300 messages in one day. I have been on Webshots for almost 6 years and this is my first POTD on the homepage. Thanks for sharing in and adding to my excitement. Randy in Vancouver

  • Good morning! Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment on my featured album "Heart to Heart" (August 9-Aug. 11)! The album is a labor of love and appreciation to my friends here on Webshots who graciously allowed me to use their pictures for my virtual paintings. Most of the credit for the album's success belongs to them. Warmly, Barbara (Arkansas USA)
