  • The answer to your question ! I wished on many occasion that I'd get messages, from our friend, however there are many that I've lost regular contact with, I can only hope that they are well and doing fine ! as for myself I still share the smile and precious moments, more so at Red Bubble, however as the colder weather grows closer and the outside projects and activities dwindle down, perhaps my activity will be more focused to the indoor activities. Dee is officially retired now, so the theme is to enjoy those projects we've planned on in the retirement day's. mostly travel and spending time with family ! as added note most of my new works appear at RB, while the notices go to my mail for WS. gets answered as regular as three times a week, On the profile page is the address to RB, it's an open invitation ! Yes that is something enjoyable that I do miss, sharing smiles, but of course I being the one, being busier than expected ! with no complaints ! except perhaps the day's still arn't long enough ! I hope this finds you well and smiling still. Thanks Barbara for the reminder to stay in the loop and connected ! Paul

  • Barbara, I appreciate you visited "Yakushima" album and leaving lovely comments. I used to work in the Yakushima island as national park warden, that is why I have many photos of the island. When I climbed Mt. Miyanoura in January, the snow was very little, therefore there was no particular difficulty even climbing alone. I brought a tent and spend four days in the mountains.

  • Good Morning Barbara. I'm glad you enjoyed the recent additions to my Covered Bridges Album and I really appreciate the very nice comment you left. As you know, there is a lot of nature's beauty out there this time of year. You just have to hope that the weather cooperates. A lot of early snow in northern PA, NY, CT and MA. Take care - Dan.

  • Oh yes Barb, you got it right again, the camera industry has us in the palm of their hand. Now my husband has decided that I need a DSLR after viewing some of the albums that my WS friends have been uploading. He figures that maybe I can get better photos. I'm not complaining, most women like jewelry, I'll go for the camera any day. Guess I'll have to start taking some photo courses this winter...Jules

  • Hi Barb, You guessed right, the jelly fish came about as I move the camera to soon (this was my first attempt). All fireworks photos were taken over Niagara Falls from the Skylon Tower's observation deck at 775 feet. Had to balance camera lens through a wire mesh enclosure and it was very winding. This was my first time to try out the fireworks mode on my new camera so all in all I was pleased with the outcome....Jules

  • Barbara My Dear Barbara, I've received your wonderful messages/comments. I could not get time to respond. Things have been difficult to say it lightly. So much is going on and most is no good. One big bit of news I'm delighted in....I found the official website for The John Hancock CV19 a Navy aircraftcarrier. My dad was on it from 1944-1945 or so. I had posted a few pictures of my dad in my family affair album a year ago or so. My dad was forever looking for crewmates and survivors of the cine rex, a theatre in Antwerp, Belgium. The theatre was demolished with a direct hit with a V Bomb. My dad was one of the very few survivors. He died in 1990 before the internet. All the researching was done by newsclips etc. A person he knew received the purple heart for surviving the blast. I have letter he was writing to the government pertaining the purple heart. The whole thing was actually kept from the news so as to not tell the enemy anything about their accomplishment of destroying such an important place.IThey will honor my dad at their conference coming up next year. I'm now an honorary member of the John Hancock! They give you the honor when your family member is seceased. I'm invited to go to the extravaganza. I always wanted to see what I could do to make my dad proud. I new his carrier was very important to him. I cried when I read that they are now going to honor my dad! Well I better write again.....http://www.usshancockassociation.org/ http://www.v2rocket.com/start/chapters/antwerp.html Read about the cine rex... Check out the quarterdeck log....I posted on the 27 or 28th. Yuou could pass it on to Paul and Theresa for me....would you? I'll post them the link but direct them back to you for the story...More my friend

  • Thanks so much for checking out and commenting on my newest albums Barbara. As a resident of the island, your opinions and input matters a lot to me. I was very fortunate to be here for Illumination Night and the Oak Bluffs fireworks. I couldn't believe how many people showed up for both of them. Getting around the cottages on Illumination Night brought back memories of Mardi Gras in the French Quarter - you had to just go with the flow. Going against it was impossible. So was getting good pictures. Just too many people and impossible lighting. The photos I took of the Corbin-Norton house were done just after dawn on the morning of the 19th. I believe the house was decorated for Illumination Night. I will be working on a more conventional album later. Take care and thanks again for all your comments. Dan

  • Good Morning Barbara. I want to invite you to check out my newest albums (if you haven't already). Boy, I don't know how you survived getting around here in the summer. Especially in Vineyard Haven. I'm surprised that there aren't more accidents at either of those intersections. This is definitely one place that requires patience and eourtesy to get around. I have to admit that I have enjoyed my hobby when I wasn't working. There are a lot of photo opportunities if you don't mind getting up early to avoid some of the traffic. Take care. - Dan.
