I have not been to Holland but I was lucky enough to get to Ottawa at the beginning of June in 2000 and saw the most wonderful tulips blossoming at that time ( as far as I know your country presented 1,000,000 tulips bulbs to Canada). Anna, Thanks for looking at my pictures of the California beaches/cliffs! I LOVE it out there! My brother is there, so I try to visit at least once/year! I live near the east coast though, so it doesn't make it easy. I do love to take pictures of nature, but I don't have the patience for macros, nor really the desire. I like to take nature photos. I'm getting better at taking pictures of people, but I don't really enjoy it, I'd rather take pictures of the skies, mountains and the ocean! I've learned tricks over the years from my brother and from seeing others photos, on how to make mine better, but I'm still an ametuer. Cindy

Hello Anna, Thank you very much for the encouraging comments on my Dahlia album & telling me about your photography life. It is a very interesting story about an amateur turned to professional photographer. I involved in photography just before the World War II, while I still a teens, almost 70 years ago. I learned all the darkroom techniques from my relative, an owner of a professional studio. After almost 20 years later, I restart on photography by making black & white, or color images for scientific publications & teaching slides. Since I am a biochemist, almost all the darkroom used reagents were prepared by my own. I enjoyed doing that. As long as I read some news about the digital photography will become available shortly. I was excited about this new era. About a year after, the things really became true. I started using digital camera since it became available. I love it. I enjoy the unlimited photography. But, I am still amateur, and no intension to become a pro. Thanks also for telling me the link to Anna Oldenhave Flower Photography. After seeing your lovely photos, no doubt, what pro is. I admire every photos showing there. You have many things for me to learn. Thanks also for telling me about the famous annual tulip festival in your country. I had been in Holland twice, now I should remember Keukenhof in Lisse and the peak of tulips blooming. By the way, I was just back from a trip for seeing 26th Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, Mount Vernon, WA, USA. I will upload some tulip photos to Webshots later. Finally, I would like to invite you as my friend in the community of Webshots.
