Andrew, many thanks for your delightful comment on my hummer POTD. I truly appreciate your kind response to my first homepage feature shot. A hurricane is bearing down on southwestern NS so everyone's on edge waiting to see what happens. I hope it doesn't blow my hummingbirds out to sea! ~ Brenda

Hello, Andrew. I really appreciate your kind comments on my bird photos. Thank you so much. Lately, I have been blessed with the opportunity to get close enough to get some decent shots, such as of the flicker and the Red tailed hawk! It was pure luck -- no skill involved! In answer to your question about where the sandhill crane photos were taken, here is the website with directions: http://www.stanislausbirds.org/Sites/SJ/woodbridge-rd.htm. Thanks again! Regina

I was going to mention while viewing your album of the Kinglets that our birds here are all but gone. I have not seen a bird in several weeks. I love taking photos out the window by the feeders but, alas, nothing to photograph right now. Strange. - Best regards, DeeAnne :)

O ya, thanx for pointing that out, I wasn't even thinking when I wrote White-throated Sparrow there, they live more in eastern America.

Forgot to answer your question: The Hermit Thrush landed on the fence in my backyard a short distance from me while I had my camera in hand. He stayed long enough for me to take about 3 shots, then he flew away. Regina

Hello, Andrew. Thank you so much for visiting my bird photos and helping me name them. I get out my "Field Guide to Western Birds" but sometimes still am not sure I have identified them properly. I really enjoyed viewing your photos. You have a good eye and a steady hand with the camera! Thanks again. Regina

Greetings Andrew! I'm here to ask for some cam advice. It's time I got myself a Christmas presy - please could you recommend a cam & lens kit which I can go out and capture bird shots with? I presently have an Olympus C8080 wide zoom and have not been able to get bird shots without scaring them all off!! lol perhaps it's how i look.... aaarrrhhhh! Joy

Thank you for your comments on White-crowned Sparrow and Marsh Wren. I don't see uncooperative birds, only shy birds and fearless ones. Marsh Wrens are truly one of the shyest and most difficult species to photograph. I have few of this species as opposed to the very curious short-billed marsh wren, Sedge Wren.--Clint

Hello Andrew, thank you for your comments on the Mandarin Ducks in my Birds album. You're right! They do share the same genus as Wood Ducks :-). I loved going through your photos - you're a really good photographer - don't stop! Joy, Malaysia

Hi Andrew, I viewed your albums this morning and had a wonderful time. I am from Western Michigan, the shores of Lake Michigan. You have many interesting and beautiful species we don't see up north. Birds especially can be so difficult to photograph - they rarely sit still for you. Your shots are excellent and may I encourage you to keep shooting wildlife photos. I am bookmarking your site and will come back to view your new posts. I see you are quite new to Webshots and so maybe I can encourage you to keep your albums small enough for folks with slow internet connects to view in reasonable time. We want to see all your photos from the southwest. - Very best regards from Western Michigan, DeeAnne :)
