Hi Al, we have minus 3 centigrades now and the first snow came yesterday. I hate winter. The older I get the more. We only go to the cottage for one night at a time, we are city people:) And I'm a nerd, too.. I don't have a laptop, so I must get back!! A German meteorologist has predicted a log and cold winter. Al..got that DVD as Birthday present and apparently its what we saw under the sun..check out Michaels Palin Sahara BBC..series on DVD...its amazing.Its about 24c all Easter...what else can I add...hope Sun moves towards that Lake...we got plenty of heat to spare...have a Nice Easter...Regards from South Pole Sunsets...Me

Hi Al, I've just been enjoying your Finland photos. I have a friend who come from (and lives in) Turku. When he came to Canada for school he said he wasn't homesick and now I understand why. Thanks for congratulating me with “my”photo of the day. The gorgeous orange tinted photo of the meadow with curious sheep and a Dutch windmill on the horizon. However, it is not MY photo. When my camera had to go for repairs and stayed away for many weeks, I collected from Webshots the photos I liked best and I decided to turn those into a WEBSHOTS “gallery album” Of course I took up contact with all photographers and asked them to participate. They were asked to write the text accompanying the photo. In all cases their webshots address was mentioned next to the photo. The gallery was an enormous success and all participants were happy with it. I also made a second Gallery album; big fun again. Do me a favor and take up contact with Marjonnabar who made the photo…… You can congratulate her with her upcoming birthday too (Sunday 17th august)! Thanks for your comment about Finland. I hope you have a great trip visiting there. I have never been there, but my father was born there, as were my mother's parents. I would like to visit there someday, too. It is beautiful there, and there are so many picturesque places to take photos. Your photos of Manitoba are very nice! Thanks, Shirley

I think you should tour Finland for real:-)) But you are like me, then, no visits to the Americas since the nineties.. We have got no snow in Helsinki and the temperatures have been mostly above zero. No need to snow anymore! The December and January months were awfully tiring, so dark. Have a wonderful week, M
