    • Thank you for your very kind message in regards to my “Squirrel Watching” photo. What fun to place 7th in the challenge and what an honor to place first in the People Choice voting. Gratefully, Carol

Buon we e grazie per il commento! Lorella

    • Vero! Ti auguro buona serata, Lorella

    • Hello, Thank you for your comments. Depression glass....was made during the depression era. Often times it is blue, green, yellow & orange. It is highly collectable here. I own a Bed & Breakfast from circa 1927 and I use it throughout the house.

    • Hi Alberta: Thanks for the visit to my album and for your comment on my paperweight. It's done through a website called: Dumpr.net . You just upload your photo, follow the directions and voila, within seconds they do the work for you. Try it out, it's great fun. After a few tries you get the idea of what works best and what doesn't. Let me know what you think of it, or better yet, show some samples in an album! You have some wonderful scenery pictures, I will have to come back and look more later. Sandy

    • Dear Albata, thank you so much for your visit to my albums and leaving kind comments on my pictures. When I was young, I was given a chance to visit national parks and other protected areas in Canada, USA, and Costarica as a participant of a concerning seminar, I was so fascinated by the great scales, wilderness, moreover by those people who proud of them and have established an excellent management system. Yes, Japan may look a small and very congested country. This is true, but at the same time, we are luckly endowed with rich, delicate nature, which have grown our culture. When I was a small boy, such nature was found more commonly in most rural areas and mountains. However, modernization has been altering such landscape quite rapidly. We still have lovely nature and landscape, but we need to pay much attention on keeping such landscapes. I took photos of Shirakami Mountains, because I was asked to write a series of articles on Shirakami-Sanchi when I was Eco-system Manager of Shirakami-Sanchi World Heritage Site. There was another request to publish a photo-book of Shirakami, but this idea did not come true, because I needed to transfer to another area just working for one and half year in Shirakami. Anyway, now, I am so happy to be able to make my photos of Shirakami and other places in public and receive kind comments on them. Cheers! Kanenori
