Hello Arie. Can't tell you how excited I was to see your photos on my friend's (Betty) computer. We were browsing the signs in the cc challenge and came across Gildontun. How wonderful! I have suspected that I have relatives in the Netherlands since my last name is Gildon. I want more information, if you are willing. These ancestors would date back 2,000 years. Thank you for your message. Massive damage. Many dead. Most of the older buildings have been flattened. Many parts of the city have on water, power or sewer. We are ok but badly shaken. No more damage to our house just a lot of water and silt bubbling up from the ground. Aftershocks are continuous . I'll keep in touch.Bernard

I see that your camera of choice is the same one I use--the D80. I should have known just by looking at your photos. That camera produces photos with such vivid colors and I'm so happy that I also chose Nikon when I went digital a few years ago. I usually put a little "exposure compensation" on all the time. and lately (to make the blue-sky colors more realistic-looking), I've been setting the "white balance" to -1. I just thought the blue was a little too blue in a lot of my shots. Nice work. Jon from Idaho, USA

Stopped by to tell you and others on my lists that I have finally got my Cheshire cat sculpture done for my Alice in Wonderland series ( painting and sculptures ) Only coincidentally coming out at the same time as the movie ;-) I started mine before Tim Burton did ;-)The Alice sculpture is also up along with a Hare model .
