Hey Akbash!! - I wonder if you ever read these messages, but I do want to wish you the best of the season. I'm not "premium" any more either, and you know what? - - I don't even miss it. 'Course I haven't seen many of the new images that are all that good that I get moved to re-join. The Daily Photos definitely don't generate the traffic nor the amount of voting that it used to back in the "Glory Days". I did see a couple of real sappy holiday images that imediately made me think of you though, thinking "boy, akbash would have a field day trumping on that one!" -Oh well, here's wish you and yours the best of the season, and good karma for the upcoming year. - - Anita

Hello akbash, I've been off, recently, doing other things and haven't visited WS for some time. Today I was catching up on a few "new" photo downloads and reading the posts. I see your membership has already expired. Mine will be over in August and I'll not be renewing...At least not until WS is either sold to another conglomerate who considers its paying members "worth" a bit of catering to (simple respect!)...or Cnet finally gets a grip and recovers some sanity. It's been a fiasco here for some time and has steadily gotten worse over the last two years. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I will miss your sarcastic, bantering humor...I, for one, "got it" and the message boards were fun and interesting to read. I imagine that now they will be quite boring with all the 'mutual admiration societies' (kissing butt) and Oh So Polite..."Politicall y Correct"...absurdity that will no doubt be the norm now that the "fun" people are gone...*sigh*... possibly, If some things change for the better we'll all meet again somewhere on down the road. Hi Akbash! I was coming here to tell you that I am unable to post messages on the board, unlike you and parriann... and having read anireya's message to you... I think I understand why! LOL! Ah well... I don't remember deleting any cookies but I am a bit of a compulsive tidier so it's possible. The funny thing is that my WS page is still telling me I have 1 day left of Premium membership! (WS is as organised as usual.) No downloads though, and no messaging! :O( Bye for now.. Hi, akbash! Wow, only 11 more days left . . . I personally feel that your leaving will leave quite a void on the ol' message board. And lately the message board has been better than alot of the pictures they're putting up! My membership will be up in another month. WS has let us all down, but I think I'll miss the persoinalities and the banterings on the boards most of all. We may not agree on alot, but your outrageousness is very entertaining, and one of the main reasons to go there regularly. It's fun wondering just how "out there" you may go! (: But enough said - my main reason for this note is to pass along this little known tip - after your premium membership is over DO NOT EMPTY the cookie cache in your browser, or, gather up those relating to the message board and set them aside while you empty the rest, and then put them back in. By doing so you will still be able to comment on the boards!! I found this out last year when I let the membership lapse for a while. In fact, I did that for 2 and a half months, before my "being helpful" husband took it upon himself to do drive maintainance and clear up space on my computer! Once the cookies were gone, I was no longer able to post. Hope you will try this tip. I'm planning to do so.

Hi, akbash! The demise of WS is definitely something we both agree on. Things may change, but we are not forced to stay on a sinking ship. In your response to ZZ's post you expressed interest in PhotoSite. You can visit the site at http://www.photosite.com for more information, and to download the Photosite AlbumBuilder software. It has lots of options for creatively enhancing your albums. I don't know if you keep copies of your WS albums on your computer or not, but if not you may have to download them first to your computer, create your PhotoSite albums (at your leisure offline) and then upload to your page at Photosite. Here are some other links you may find interesting in your search for a new web home: http://www.bubbleshare.com, http://www.photozig.com, http://www.bytegallery.com, http://photobucket.com (you get 2 GB free space and you can even do audio narrations on your albums!). Of course there's Google's Picasa Web Albums. Download the Picasa software at http://picasa.google.com. It's an excellent image manager and editor, as well as a web album builder. You also get 2 gigs there as well. And don't forget to check out Flickr (http://www.flickr.com). It's membership is huge and with lots of professionals in the ranks, and you can get full resolution downloads. Another site with thousands of full-res downloads is Stockxchng - http://www.sxc.hu/home. One of my favorite sites for downloads is the National Geographic Photography Archieves at http://www.nationalgeographic.com/photography. They not only have a Photo of the Day, but you can browse and download all the images you want for free (and they're all pro!). I hope these links will be of help to you. (I'm also hoping that WS will display them correctly in your messages!) If you need more sources to try let me know. I have lots more.

Hello. I`ve been viewing the message board on the Pro Shots, for the first time this week. I`m so new to the world of photography that I had nerve even to post any comments! I have to admit, that I thought you were mean spirited, but I was wrong! You have a good eye for photography and your sense of humor is priceless. Today`s kitten comments still have me laughing!
