Hello, my name is Martha Conley from Holliston, MA and I just discovered your wonderful pictures and records from Clonmany. I have been researching my family roots for the last two years and only in the last few months have been able to connect to Dunaff, Clonmany. Your pictures of birth records further verified my research as I found 6 of my great-grand aunts and uncle in the registers. They were all Friels...born in Dunaff in 1861 - 1873. The whole family, father Philip Friel and mother Ann Friel came to America in 1875 with their 9 children and she delivered twins on the ship on their way to New York. They ended up in Boston in 1880. I never knew anything about this side of my mother's family because her mother died when she was young and it was all a big mystery to her. I have slowly been unraveling the mystery of each of her grand aunts and uncles, many of whom died young. I know that Philip Friel was born about 1836 in Dunaff and his father was Philip and his mother was Catharine (don't know her maiden name). I realize there are many Friels from Dunaff, but I am trying to find a connection and would love to go to Dunaff this early fall to do more searching. If you can be of any help I would appreciate it.

Hi Aantosca I would like to thank you for posting the photographs of St Michael's graveyard, Urris,on this site. They are of great interest and benefit to those os us tracing our Clonmany roots. This morning I got an even more pleasant surprise to see the Clonmany Church records. I am interested in researching my own Clonmany family history and, like you, making it available to others. I would very much like to make direct contact with you. Warmest regards, Catherine

Hello, My name is Andrew Bradley from Ayr in Scotland. I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed your photos of Dunaff and Urris. They brought back so many memeories. I visisted there in the late sixties and I recognise the name Canny from conversations of long ago. I stayed with my mothers cousin Bridgit McGonigle in Dunaff. My grandfather was Daniel Doherty from Urris and my grandmother Bridgit Kearney from Leenankeel. It's god's own country. ANDREW BRADLEY
