Hi Laura, I also am replacing the cable lift system on my 1975 Starcraft. Could I persuade you to also send to me your lift system instructions. Thank you in advance. My email address is: aglenn@eaglesystemsinc.ne t
Hi Laura, Is there anyway I could persuade you to send me your cable lift system instructions? I need to replace my cables on my 74 starcraft and this site won't let me download the pics I need to figure out what I'm doing. I'd really appreciate it if you could! Thanks! Steveebowman@sbcglobal.ne t
Laura,
I saw while browsing the popupportal.com boards today that you have (or had?) a 1973 Starcraft Starmaster. For some reason, I couldn't message you through those boards, so I figured I'd try here.
I recently got a 1969 Starcraft Stardust from my parents, who have downsized their house and no longer have room for it (they rarely use it these days, anyway).
I had it open the last 2 days, and while it was open, the rear canvas dropped almost completely off of the wood to which it was mounted via the aluminum strip. I will need to replace this wood piece (I want to use hardwood, instead of plywood, for greater longevity) because it's very rotten. My questions are these:
1) Can I replace this without removing the roof from the camper? I don't want to rush, but rather, my friends all live quite a distance away, and I will likely end up working on it myself.
2) How is this wood piece attached/secured? Is it glued? There don't appear to be any screws attached through the aluminum cap, so I'm not sure how this is accomplished.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated! I'll also send over some pictures at some point if you'd like. It was nice finding somebody with the same generation of pop-up that I'm dealing with!
Thanks,
John
