I am a new subscriber. When I click on the desktop images to download, I get nothing but code. I use a MacBook Pro. Is that a problem for me downloading the images? Charles Gattis

I have been downloading FREE WEBSHOT pictures for over 10 years. Now with your new program, which advertises FREE PICURES, I can not download any pictures, without joining up, which would cost me money I don't have. Your need to stop advertising FREE, WHEN THEY ARE NOT FREE ANY MORE, OR CHANGE YOUR DOWNLOADING PROCEDURES.

Well, aren't you special Jessica. Sincerely. A human. I am such a fan of Webshots. But Photobucket and Flickr get all the press. You guys are not even mentioned in Mashable's 3rd annual social media survey. If you create a Facebook or MyLife type free PROFILE that can be seen on Webshots at the members option, put a little more emphasis into being Googled and Binged, Plus tell Mashable about this, you will get some big hits. AND, a profile is peanuts (so to speak) in social media circles. Use Facebook security settings as your programming guide, and bingo, you have it. 90% of the folks out there that are jumping on the social media bandwagon are novices. They BITE on free profiles. It is the thought of being Googled that does it. So if that's true for the moment, you GOT TO BE THERE. If you have not seen this VIDEO and you are having trouble convincing the American Greeting's Card Board (old duffers like me) to get going, this VIDEO will help get their attention: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFYPQjYhv8 Do the profile thing (I can be a beta tester for you if you want -- love this stuff). Thank you for correcting the spamming issue that seemed to be taking over the photograph comments of many, many members. I know it seems like I've been complaining a lot lately. I have put so much time and effort into Webshots that I feel I must put my two cents worth in. My only desire is to help make this the outstanding site that it could and should be. The red background on the homepage does not work at all. Red is absolutely the worst color to showcase images in front of. It contrasts way too much and detracts away from what should be focused on... the featured photographs. In short, I do not like it at all. Please make some more appropriate changes.

Jessica, I would really appreciate some type of response concerrning the spam on WS. Honesty is certainly the best policy here. I am sure that finding a solution and rectifying the situation is your number one priorty; however, the degredation this is causing to your site is becoming irreparable. The integrity of Webshots and the technical capabilities of this site is being challenged to the extreme. The bottom line here is that I really hate to see something that I have personally invested so much time and effort into is being compromised in such a negative way. It is time for you to make some type of public statement addressing this issue.

I echo Clarkth's comment about all of the spam. I have been off line for three weeks during a move, and there are about thirty spam comments that I have to go in and delete. Can't you block their ISP? or require a captcha for comments? Something has to be done, or I will have no choice but to delete my Webshots Account. This should be your number one priority, because I know that I'm not alone in that sentiment. I would at least like to see one of your newsletters address the situation.

The unsolicited spam I am receiving on a daily basis is getting completely out of hand and is literally destroying WS. I love to see comments on my images but not in conjunction with ringtones or life insurance. Blocking and deleting a dozen messages every day is becoming too time consuming. What, if anything, is being done about it on your end?

Hi and congrats on the wedding and Honeymoon. Hope all went well. Carol and I are finishing up 10 days in New England. The weather has been less than favorable, but we've seen some spectacular scenery. I have a question, myself and several of myt webshots friends have been getting spammed heavily, sometimes as many as 35 messages a day by some idiot that keeps creating new screen names and then posting a bunch of URLs for ring tones, life insurance etc. Is there someway your programmers can filter this out by monitoring message traffic that contains a bunch of URLs? it's getting really disgusting. I think this jerk has created some software that does this automatically. I'll be posting some new albums ssoon, nice to see new stuff on your page too! Randy

Jessica, Thank you, and also to the other editors, for chosing my West Side Market album for today's feature. I overslept this morning and didn't turn on my computer at home. When I got to work I checked my email and saw all the emails...and thought "What is going on." Then voila - looked at the WS Home Page. Making all those collages from approx. 300 pictures was a lot of work, but I am so glad I did and that other people now have the opportunity to enjoy the full flavor of the market...pardon the pun.
