    • Part Two: She called me and wanted to get back together and I told her we had a saying, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me." In other words, no way. I finished my schooling and was assigned back to Korea. I had a "yobo" but even though I considered remarrying again, my heart just wasn't in it. But, I still love Korea and Korean people. I can't judge all Koreans by the act of one. (Yes, you may kick me in my butt for what I did. LOL) Take care and write back if you get a chance. pabock71@yahoo.com. Philip Bock CSM (Retired)

    • Hi: My name is Philip Bock, I was a Korean Linguist Intelligence Agent in Korea from 1979 till about 2003. People say I'm a Korean now not an American because I was there so long! LOL I spent most of my time in TDC and the Ville was of course my favorite place to visit. Of course not 100% of my time in service was in Korea but the majority of it was. I was offered assignments down south but for some reason I loved Camp Casey and TDC. Because of my job I was able to live, with special permission from the division commanders, to live off base. Life was so simple there yet I had more fun there and had more friends there than I've ever had in the states. Korea has changed so much though now that I don't particularly care to go back. It's not like it used to be in the 70's, 80's, and part of the 90's. The 90's is when it really began to lose its identity and try to become more "westernized" and materialistic. The people have changed a lot too. They used to be so kind and nice people. Now they're greedy, money hungry, and more like a "me me me" type of people. That's a shame. I really love the Korean people. Yes, I did marry a Korean lady. You'd think with all my experience I'd of been really smart and picked a really good Korean wife; right? Wrong! Love makes the wisest man the biggest fool. Suki was the most beautiful Korean I'd ever seen. We got along great and fell in love, well, at least I did. When we went back to the states for me to attend an advanced language and intelligence course, (this was her first time back to the states) I came home one day and she was gone. She left a note saying she was sorry, that she hated what she had done to me, but she didn't love me and only married me so she could get to the United States with a green card and meet her old boyfriend. The last laugh was on her though. She flew from Monterey California to Hawaii were he was and it turns out he was married and had been for years and had three kids and told he to get lost.
