reply'n to your post about my 'floating 9 patch'. the first pix in my album gives the sizes to cut the squares to make a 12" block. any size 9 patch is easily made as long as the side sqs are cut as rectangles, need to add the extra half inch for that extra seam when you bi-sect the 9 patch to resew it. the middle sq would be cut bigger than the corner sqs, matching the longest side of the rectangle. clear as mud, oh dear. if you need more info i'm at nzlstar@yahoo.com or on msg'r with same ID. :)
