Hi Katherine, just to let you know I have posted a few more pictures of Alfie at 13 weeks. We went to puppy behaviour class this week - he is a tinker, play wrestled with a Rhodesian Ridgeback for an hour! - Not at all interested in the lesson!

I was just having another look at Alfie - his ears are small and legs are thick - looks more like Rottweiler material to me....only time will tell. Kath
Hey Maxinus
Alfie is very cute - as are Tig and Bear. 17 is a grand age. My two cats are 10 and 14. Jasper (the 14 yr old) is getting a little slower but still manages to bash Ted on a daily basis. They are inside cats so the dogs just get to bark at them through the screen door. I would like to have the dogs inside but they are just too big, too smelly and too energetic. Alfie is very sweet. Quite hard to tell what he is crossed with. He certainly has the Doberman look. Sometimes you can't tell until they are fully mature. Roger's Rottweiler characteristics really did not become fully fledged until he was 2 yrs old. Now it is obvious - particularly since the Rotties are not as smart as the Dobies.....Rog is gorgeous but not Mensa material. Lois on the other hand runs rings around him on the smarts. Anyway, back to Alfie. Post a current pic! Is he smart? There is a dog intelligence test you can do... (Roger failed)by Dr Stanley Coren: http://www.abc.net.au/animals/dog_test/ it is good fund as well as informative. Kath
Katherine, hope you get this message, I have now downloaded some early pictures of Alfie, he is now bigger than those photos. Let me know what you think, his two mates tig and bear are also on there, they keep him in line thank goodness.
Hi Katherine,
Thanks for the information. My dog is nowhere near as big as that, although in the first four weeks that we have had him he has doubled his body weight to 10lbs. He was only 5lbs when we got him, but we are not exactly sure how old he is because he was from an abandoned litter and they were presuming his age when he was left. He is 11 weeks now and 10lbs, he was tiny when we had him. He was said to be a whippet cross because three of the puppies looked like whippets, but three didn't, we think now it may have been two litters. I am getting photos put on a disc this weekend, I will post some pictures when I get them. Thanks for the information.
Hi Maximus, Roger (we think) is crossed with a Rottweiler. He was 7kg at 10 weeks (underweight)but once I got my hands on him he packed it on. He was big boned with feet like flippers and now weighs 47kgs (102 lbs if you are still in imperial) Lois, our other Doberman cross is much lighter. We think she has some labrador in her and perhaps Kelpie as they are lighter boned and a popular dog here in Australia. Have you loaded any pics of your pup?
Hello Katherine,
Love the photos of your dogs, I have recently bought what I was told was a whippet cross puppy, but I don't think so, as he grows I think he is beginning to look like a doberman cross. I wondered if you could tell me anything about Rogers weight as a puppy at about 10 weeks , or what he is a cross with, perhaps it will give me some pointers to my rascal!
thanks - maxinus
