    • Hi Christina: Have tried several times to access the Blog to leave you a message, as I wanted you to know my thoughts have been with you since Saturday. I am unable to log in and hope that you will get my messages. I am having problems logging into webshots as well, but kept trying. The tears fell again looking at the pics you posted today and the beautiful tributes and flowers left...your last words "Missing You" had me in more tears, and can't believe this is true....I sincerely hope that you are okay and I will keep coming back to the blog to see the pics you post at the Zoo...Know my heart is with you each and every day... Much love to all in Berlin for your loss of the beloved Knuti...My heart aches and can't seem to get him far from my mind...fr_deb@telus.net.. .From Calgary, Alberta. Canada.

    • Dear Christina: I am sorry, sad, crying and in shock with the bad news of Knut..I can imagine how you are feeling. For the last 4 years we had a wonderful time thanks to you that shared with the world the beautiful moments of our dearest bear and his beloved dad. This is a very sad ending that I cannot realize yet, it is too hard now. You did a beautiful job, you wrote the perfect quote to each pic, your love for this creature was so huge that it made you share it with the whole world without a stop. I'm sorry I wasn't checking often like before but I always had you guys present. My deepest condolences and I hope to see you continue posting pics and taking beautiful pictures. God Bless you, Knut and Thomas as well. Peace & Love

    • Dearest Christina: I was sitting in front of my television at dinner time and heard the news of Knut's passing. To say the least, I was so shocked. I came to your page to read, as I knew you would most likely have been at the zoo on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Berlin. I was trying to read what you had written, and can imagine you crying tears the way I was, just reading your words. Nobody seemed to put more funny thoughts into pictures of the beautiful Knut, better than you. Each caption you wrote, fit so well. I have yet to look at your pics from yesterday, I am still trying to grasp this tragedy for you, and the rest of the world that loved this sweet Icebear. I am as you are, extremely sad at his sudden passing, and can't believe I won't be able to come back to your almost daily pics and antics of the beloved Knut. Please keep taking your wonderful pictures, and post them so we can see. Blessed are we that shared in the lives of Thomas & Knut, and thank you for your wonderful pictures over the past 4 years. I'll be back to check in to see how you are doing. Much love comes your way, and to the city of Berlin from Calgary, Alberta. Canada.

    • Christina, I just heard about Knut's passing and I immediately thought of you and how much you loved him. My condolences to you. Knut was a very special bear, and you always took such sweet photos of him. Thank you for helping us get to know Knut better these past four years. Shirley

    • Dear Christina, The Lars, Ladies and Pumpkins September 14, 2008 Series is amazing. I shared it with Planetary Unfolding and Polar Bears International and will try to get the word out to other bear protection and research groups. Have you tried to circulate it also? Bears are so misunderstood and abused all over the world. I belong to several bear protection groups and support many more. Good news is that finally the heinous sloth bear dancing in India has been banned!!! I hope you, your husband and precious pets are all well. Greetings from Beautiful Back Bay, Boston, MA

    • Liebe Christina, PS: I forgot to mention which photos! They were out of your 19th of February album, nrs 11 and 37 (snuffling at the gardner closeup and 'you may cross your fingers again'). Which I'm still doing for both of you!

    • Liebe Christina, I hit a snag in the conversion of my bankpasses. It turned out that under the new rules the photo to be used should be at least 30 Kb and max. 3 Mb, min. resolution 480x480 pixels. You seemed to like the idea, perhaps it is worth the bother to send me copies of the original photos? If you have broadband, otherwise it will take too much time ...? My headaccount email is still: ceebruin@xs4all.nl Sorry for this bother, but I have been looking for suitable photos from even before the takeover, and it is quite difficult as a mere 'Very Beautiful' photo doesnot seem right. So it is rather a disappointment. Have a lovely end-of-winter week, with more snow for Knut and you! Vriendelijke groeten, Daatje.

Hendrik

    • Hello Christina, I have been enjoying your photos for sometime. I visited our dear Knuti in October of last year. Just love the little guy. I have not seen any recent photos from you. Are you still taking them? I am deeply saddened today on hearing about the untimely death of Thomas. I am sad for his family, for all of us that watched as he hand reared the most wonderful bear and expecially for our dear Knuti who will miss him and never now why he left him. ourania11

    • I wonder if Webshots (or someone else) thinks it would be healthy for me to move a little bit further away from Knut. When looking at your photos, I got 7 ads for the US green card ;-)))) Like Finland wasn't far enough!

    • Hi Christina! I'm really starting to doubt if you are a real Knut fan, as you're not willing to switch to the oxtail fragrance, which Knuti highly recommends. You should TRY it at least :-) Maybe your hubby buys you an oxtail for your next birthday... Thanks for great comments.

    • Chhristina, I am enthousiastic and happy I met you in Berlin, because I desired it tooo much!!! You are a very special person. I spent many hours at the Zoo (actually this time we visited Berlin just for this, for Knuti). Yesterday, Sunday, we spent 7 hours at the Zoo. Today, Monday morning at 9:00 I was the first visitor of the Zoo and for some minutes I was completely alone with him!! It was so nice. He is clever, he is still so cute and he looked at me with his lovely eyes! I took this glance bach in Greece. At 9:00 Knuti was already black and dirty (!!!) but really active: he plaid football, he swam, he carried the heavy log! Some minutes later, two photografers (reportes?) came.. I wish they are going to report the activity and the welfare of Knuti.. Really thank you for the foto! I already put it beside my Buda's statuettes collection :)) This picture is the best of my collection. Kisses.

Liebe Gruesse Sophie

    • Christina, You mentioned awhile back that Knut keepers taught him not to swallow plastic, but just the same I think the object in his mouth in Photo #21 of April 7 is very inappropriate and should be checked out immediately and removed from the moat and examined by the staff. Thanks. Karen PS: I tried to phone the zoo but it is so late in Germany there was no answer.

    • Dear Christina, First, thank-you so much for helping us to all follow Knut as he grows into a beautiful bear. I have a question for you about an article I read yesterday. The title is: 'Psycho' Polar Bear Knut 'Addicted to Fame'. The story goes on to say that Knut is addicted to fame and cries and howls when no one watches him. Since you see him everyday, have you ever seen this kind of behavior from Knut? Again, thank-you for your awesome photos.

    • Dear Christina, Thank you for your prompt reply. It was reassuring to learn that the plastic ring is gone (in pieces) and also that the keepers have taught him not to swallow plastic. The small balls being removed from his enclosure is good news also. His being isolated in the enclosure is not a good idea. He would benefit from continued snuggles with Mr. Doerfein. He could use more toys I think to keep him busy as from what I have read, bears are highly inteligent and emotionally complex. It doesn't surprise me as Knut's antics are so clever. Thanks again. Karen
