Absolutely great pictures you have on file here! I'm researching info on my father, who was onboard the USS Oklahoma on 12/07/41. His name is Ralph Jansen, otherwise known as "Swede". Originally from Wisconsin, he was assigned on the Oklahoma as an AMM, Aviation Machinist's Mate, later ACMM as a Chief. After Pearl, he spent most of the next 4-5 years as a backseater/Navigator/Radi o Operator/Gunner/Bombardie r on a variety of USN planes, notably OS2's, SBD's and SP2's.
I'd certainly appreciate any info you or your viewers/readers may have. Thanks!

Air Commander, Thank you for the beautiful pictures. I've been to Pearl Harbor twice. It's the most quietest place I've ever been to. And I've been to alot of places you see I'm also a Navy brat. I'm from Annapoils, MD.. My father was stationed there. He was on the USS-X1 mini sub during the 60's. He was a lifer and now I live in Michigan burrrr it's cold here. I'd rather be on the beach with a book. Thank you again for the pictures.debasham@yahoo.c om
Air Commander, Thank you for adding me into your list of friends. I've had as many as 39 albums in the past, but this website got so slow in everything, I went to Free membership in the last six months, so starting over once more. Do appreciate you taking the time in uploading your albums for all to see. Thanks again. ron/oregon coast
I also was a child living in Navy Housing at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. I was not quite 4 years old at the time. My mother (who was 8 months pregnant) and I were scheduled to sail back to the main land because dad (a first class radioman) had been transferred to Palmyra Island. My aunt and uncle (a first class machinist mate on the USS Oklahoma) were also in Pearl at that time.
I was shot while I was getting dressed in my bed room in our housing unit. It was a 50 caliber bullet, which I have as a memento, meaning I was shot by friendly fire as the Japs had nothing like it.
I am an honorary member of the Prescott, Arizona Pearl Harbor Survivors Association. I have met two other children from that period in our history who live in this area. One was the daughter of the Commander of the Pearl Harbor Hospital and lived on Hospital Point. The other was a boy living down town in the home his parents owned. His father was the Chief Engineer on the USS Pennsylvania.
