Hello,
I just want to comment on your white Platz rollers. They are gorgeous. Do you have a pair for sale? If you do, I would like to buy them if they are reasonably priced. Please contact me at davidsj2005@yahoo.com if you have a pair to let go at this time.
Thanks.
David

Hi! Happy New Year! That's neat that a black pigeon appeared at your loft. This past summer we acquired a new racing Homer pigeon who showed up with a hurt leg. I nursed him back to health, then released him. He made a bee-line out of here, then the next day, there he was again pecking around with the Homers! He has moved into the loft now and flies with the pack! My little hand-raised pigeon had one leg he couldn't bend for some reason. I moved him out to the loft when he was old enough and he started to fly around the yard, then one day he was gone. More than likely, a hawk got him. At least he got a chance to fly around. Both of our lofts are open all the time. The birds come and go as they please. There are many many hawks here due to the wheat fields and the rodents and birds that go along with the territory. We do lose some pigeons to hawks occasionally, but the pigeons have learned to be extremely hawk savvy. Whenever our roosters see a hawk in the sky, they sound out their 'alarms' and the pigeons head for the loft or the sky. The roosters are kind of like the monkeys in the jungle that alert the deer when a tiger is around! Thanks for all your comments! I've been adding more photos on Webshots lately since I can't play outside in the blizzards! LOL!
Hello! Thanks for the nice comments about my pigeons. Sounds like you have a lot. I have about 100 or so now (white Homers and Birmingham Rollers). I am also getting into raising Polish and Silkie chickens. Happy Holidays! Cakeholemoon
Hi Patti; Thank you for asking about Alex. He was such a sweetheart and seemed so very quiet and timid when I first got him. I was drawn to him because he had the biggest eyes you could imagine. He seemded so timid and I just thought that it was his personality and that he would get over it and liven up. He was very attached to me and was often on my lap or snuggled up with Savannah. He was soooo sweet. Looking back now, I can see that he was actually very weak, not strong at all. He got sick several times with what appeared to be colds just like the rest of the cats, but the last time he very rapidly became weaker and weaker. He had FIP which is Feline Infectious Peritenitis. It attacks the old, the young and the very weak. None of my other cats got it, Thank God! There is only a 5% survival rate. After I lost him, Kristie, the breeder insisted that I take another kitten, but I didn't want to. But one day when I was over at her house, taking photos, she introduced me to Murphy who was the only one to survive among his litter and she had to force feed him with an eye dropper. He was not responding, but when I held him, it was like he was coming alive. I stayed with him for hours just holding him and went back the next day and it was like he was deciding to live. Then Kristie went to a cat show in Canada and asked me if I would care for him. He was only 8 weeks old, but when I brought him home, he has never left and I cannot tell you how much joy he brings to me. He is very active and so very loving. I think it is important for cats to have playmates and he has been the perfect kitten to liven things up. I am so glad that you enjoyed Alex's album. He was such a sweet little kitten. Hugs, Marjie
Hi Patty; Thank you for accepting my invitation to be friends. I think pure white Ragdolls are true Ragdolls and simply one of the particular types. My Murphy is a Seal mitted and Savannah is a Seal Lynx Bicolor. They are the most wonderful cats and so friendly and have made friends with my other cats. By the way, I tried to read the article about your racing pigeons and was not able to find it in the archives. I am enjoying seeing your birds. I think they are fascinating. Warm regards, Marjie

Hello,
I am looking for a pair or two of the Platz rollers. Would you be interested in trading for some late hatch racing homers, Ganus bloodlines. Have you had your Platz rollers long? How are they performing for you?
I have two pair but they have been bred so close they are not very prolific.
