Flying Polar Bears

On our last day in Churchill, while waiting for our flight out, we were lucky to observe the release of bears into it's natural habitat. We stood there in tempratures of minus 15 celsius, in a strong snow storm. My hands and face were freezing, but I was very happy to see this interaction of man and wild beast. A bear that gets into the comunity of Churchill is very dangerous to the people of Churchill. In the past, this bear would be shot. Now they put them into "Bear Jail" and whenever helicopters and money get's available, a project "release" goes on it's way. The spots on some of the photos, are huge snow flakes in the air.
