The polar ship ”Fram” is the one sea-going vessel that has been the farthest both to the north and the south.Fram was used by Roald Amundsen in his southern polar expedition from 1910 to 1912, the first to reach the South Pole.

Thor Heyerdahl was a Norwegian ethnographer and adventurer with a scientific background in zoology and geography. Heyerdahl became notable for his Kon-Tiki expedition, in which he sailed 4,300 miles (8,000 km) by raft from South America to Tuamotu Island.

Paul Kinizsi was a general in the Black Army-which was one of the greatest in Europe in the 15th century- of Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus. Kinizsi is famous for his victory over the Ottomans in the Battle of Breadfield in October 1479.
