It great to expose kids to snakes. The rat snake is a good first snake. My pet ratsnake "Speedbump" I have had for 6 years now and he is very docile. I have brought him into a few classrooms, K -3, for 10 minutes. The kids love him. He is named Speedbump because I rescued him off a road where a car had already brushed him and left him disoriented. Happy herping ! Charlie
