Papasidero dates back to Byzantine times and is of interest for the ruins of a cstle and the S. Maria from Costantinopoli sanctuary with its 14th century Byzantine frescoes, although the main attraction is the Grotta del Romito containing traces of Palaeolithic man with its chest pierced by a stone arrow head as well as archaeological finds in the vicinity.
