Well done on such a fab pic, it certainly brought a smile to my face. l've been lucky enough to go to Surfers twice - in 2004 & 2007. All l can say is you lucky so and so. I simply love the place, the trouble is that I'm 10,500 miles away here in London. But I do have photos of Surfers elsewhere on webshots.

Congratulations on your cc win and on your front page honor today as well!! I enjoyed this image very much when I first saw it the other day. I'd like to respond to the individual who seemed to feel that nature shots, without us human beings cluttering up the scenery, are preferable. Gotta disagree. I think surely there's a place for both. Personally I love nature shots, but I'm beginning to feel more and more that there's nothing more beautiful in nature than the human face and form. I've taken my share of insect, wildlife, nature shots ... but I'm hungering for the faces of my fellow human-inhabitants on this Good Earth ... and your representation of the different emotions only us humans' faces can really give voice to is fabulous. LOVED your narrative about the events leading up to and including the shot. Yes, a picture is worth a thousand words, but I like the words too. I was there in March - at Broadbeach and we had the most glorious, glorious weather. Can understand why people live there. The beaches are just magnificent, aren't they? Hundreds of miles of the best sand, beach after beach, gorgeous coastline, not too many people. When I look at fotos of the beaches in Europe where people are just packed in on pebbled beaches with no room to spare, I realise how lucky we are.
