Are you SURE you didn't take a pic of a painting? This is so beautiful! As the millions of others have said, perfect timing on the lighting/time its so surreal...so rich and yet, up in the left upper corner it has a misty quality. Thanks. I opened the daily photos and your pic was there. My dad just passed away very unexpectedly and your photo just reminds me of him. He loved to go for long rides on the back roads and appreciate older buildings and history. This pic just gave me a moment of peace of thinking of him and appreciation for those memories. Very nice photo. I have visited this grist mill once, and I can definately say it is NOT in Colorado, a state that I also have visited. The Webshots people do not know their geography; according to a certain TV show, a fifth grader should be able to locate this mill in Tennessee. You even supply the coordinates. How can the Webshots people miss this one?

Why did the Webshots people say this photo was from Colorado? Probably because the artist's caption says Anderson Co, and somebody thought that meant Colorado when in this case it means County. They didn't notice the "TN" after the "Co" -- they goof from time to time . . .

Great Shot John, My classmate at Denmark (SC) High School -- Jim Harrison -- is one of the nation's acclaimed artist who has the ability to produce originals and prints which seem to be photographs of nature's landscapes, barns, and, yes, grist mills. You have the wonderful ability to produce photographs which one would swear are the artwork of one of the world's greatest painters. The Norris Damn Mill is my favorite of your work. Beautiful picture, but definitely NOT in Colorado. We have a fascinating and often photographed abandoned mill near Marble, Colorado, but the Norris Dam Mill is in Tennessee, near Clinton. Too bad the Webshots folks mislabeled this pastoral scene . . .
