Hi David, I just popped by to answer your Q....One question though, how do you know sooo much about this playground...... did you help design or build it? No David I did not help to design, but it was of interest to me because one of my grandsons goes to school there, AND it actually made headlines in The Winnipeg Free Press last week...that is where I obtained all the info...Thanks for your interest David...Take care now...Larry in Winnipeg.

Thank you David, for your kind words on my "heritage" entry into the WS challenge. I was surprised but happy with the contest results. I was fortunate to have captured this photo when I did. I think the weather and time of year are what really made it special. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Regards, Blair

Hi David: Thanks for your kind comment on my United Airlines stairway entry. Yes, I live in Denver. I'm retired from United where I was a graphic designer at the Training Center for 24 years. I still maintain contacts there as I volunteer at the United Historical Society one day a week. More personal details are in my "about me" column at my WS home page and my biographical photos are also in WS. Marv (BerryMan)

Hi David, thanks for taking the time to view and comment on my photo Baa Baa Black Sheep. I was very thrilled to be the winner of the Creative Challenge - Wood and overwhelmed to say the least, with the response to the photograph as POTD The Cuttalossa Grist Mill is one of the loveliest spots in Bucks County. I'm glad I was able to share it with my WS friends around the world. Ira

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my creative challenge entry. I checked with the guidelines and nowhere does it say that you can't enter a photo in more than one challenge (it does say that you can't enter a previously featured photo though). Anyway should the judges decide it doesn't fit the guidelines they'll just ignore it. All the best, Anitha

Hi David, thank you for your nice comment, I read your message, but I think that a photo who was featured can not be entered again. May bee I am wrong but i have seen more photos in different challenges and nobody have a problem with that...but I ceep my eye and ears open okeee. Bye...Ien

Hi David, I have a coworker (fellow nurse) who also loves to take photos and who just learned how to post photos on webshots. She's very excited about the whole thing. If you have time you should check out her photos. She's quite good and has a nice collection of photos in her first album. http://community.webshots.com/user/Maryellen0353/profile Warmest wishes ~ Jess

Hello David, thank you for the compliments about story and picture of the top piece of an old box! Oh dear, you MAKE me proud! So I just now took my camera and if you wish you can look at the whole box in my Creative challenge album. Sorry for the angle, but it is quite difficult to get a shot with flash on the reflecting polish. That's the reason I took the challenge picture without a flash. I wonder it came out well with an exposure of 1/5 sec. ! After your words I looked at it in full size myself...:-) No it is not a Jewelry box. My mother kept her sewing utensils in it - and I just couldn't change it. :-) Have a wonderful day! - Galit

Good morning David!! Wow, yesterday was so amazing for me, I am so happy!! Webshots gave me 11 features in many channels along with the homepage POTD, and I am simply dazzled by all the wonderful attention this has brought to my work!! It is in meeting friends like you David who share a great passion for the love of fine art photography who make it all so wonderfully fun!! You know, I have only been in Alaska since May 2006, and it is interesting as I now have seen two sun pillars in two consecutive years at about the same time of year. So I am researching it for it seems it must have something to do with atmospheric optics and autumn equinox. I consider myself blessed to have witnessed them!! Two days ago I saw a spectacular sun dog again, so perfect with the brilliant sun and two rainbows on either side looking like colourful paranthesis!! I was so astonished at the beauty, and it was the one time out almost never do I go out without my camera! I always have it with me, always!! Except this one time. It was a quick drive to the convenience store to pick up creme, and it reinforces for me to always carry it with me, for I have seen many sun dogs but this one was during afternoon and absolutely huge! Yes, I do believe it must have something to do with the weather conditions at autumn equinox and within the coming weeks, but you know. Alaska skies are brilliant! I have lived in many places on this earth from all over the mainland to Europe and Hawai'i, and I have never seen anything quite so amazing as the subarctic skies of Alaska! There are prismatic auroras even during the day!! Sharon

Hello David!! You are a darling!! You spent much time with me today!! Thank you so much for your many wonderful messages in Spirit of Delight and for your comment on my POTD feature of the Alaska Sun Pillar!! I am pleased you enjoy my work! I was so surprised this morning I actually cried tears of happiness and am sincerely grateful to the Webshots editors for my front page feature. This generosity has drawn so much attention to my work I am dazzled!! It is so fantastic to receive so many wonderful comments from the community on a spectacular phenomena with the sun pillar, which seems to occur each year, as I photographed one last year here in Alaska at almost the same time! The atmospheric optics must have something to do with the autumn equinox and rotation of the earth. It is also amazing as I almost left the area, as the sunset first appeared very grey and uneventful, but I thought to myself, with so many wonderful layers of clouds in the evening sky I will wait and see what happens. I felt truly blessed when suddenly the bolt of scarlet red light beamed up into the sky like a beacon, highlighting the clouds in this dazzling display! I took hundreds of shots as the colours shifted constantly from lavender, blues, pinks, purples and deep scarlet reds! It was truly a gift to witness it and I am so happy that through this site everyone else can see it too! I wish you a fabulous day! Sharon

Hi David!, Thanks so much for visiting my page and viewing my new Random pics album. All your king comments made me smile. And no, I don't mind your "nitpicking" at all. I have so much to learn yet. I'm thinking that at some point soon I should finally take a photography class of some kind since i enjoy taking photos so much but really have no clue as to what I'm doing and what my camera can do :). Thanks again and I hope you are enjoying your weekend! warmest wishes ~ Jess

Hi David. You can't beat the classics. I had my eye on a 1965 Ford Fairlane. Really big and red with throaty exhaust note too. Problems included lack of spares, small garage to park it in as well as all that petrol (gas) money ...... you have some very interesting albums !! Thanks, Steve
