Speaking of quantum physics, have you ever read the article "The Holographic Universe"? From the article ... "As the religions of the East have long upheld, the material world is Maya, an illusion, and although we may think we are physical beings moving through a physical world, this too is an illusion. We are really 'receivers' floating through a kaleidoscopic sea of frequency, and what we extract from this sea and transmogrify into physical reality is but one channel from many extracted out of the superhologram." And ... "The holographic paradigm also has implications for so-called hard sciences like biology. Keith Floyd, a psychologist at Virginia Intermont College, has pointed out that if the concreteness of reality is but a holographic illusion, it would no longer be true to say the brain produces consciousness. Rather, it is consciousness that creates the appearance of the brain -- as well as the body and everything else around us we interpret as physical. Such a turnabout in the way we view biological structures has caused researchers to point out that medicine and our understanding of the healing process could also be transformed by the holographic paradigm. If the apparent physical structure of the body is but a holographic projection of consciousness, it becomes clear that each of us is much more responsible for our health than current medical wisdom allows. What we now view as miraculous remissions of disease may actually be due to changes in consciousness which in turn effect changes in the hologram of the body. Similarly, controversial new healing techniques such as visualization may work so well because in the holographic domain of thought images are ultimately as real as 'reality'." http://www.crystalinks.com/holographic.html

Hi Mimi and good morning! I agree ... it's always nice to meet a kindred spirit. They are certainly rare, indeed. I'm enjoying our conversations too. I have explored a lot of past lives as well. In fact, I used to get together with several members of my tai chi class back in the '70s to do group past life regressions. Fascinating sessions! I have explored a lot of individual regressions as well over the years, but those group regressions were really something. What's interesting to me about time and the connections we make is that when I was younger, I would tune into various times in my future, just to see what I'd be doing at that point in my life. Twenty years or so later, when I would reach that time period, I would remember that time and tune into where I was back then. Makes me wonder sometimes if they were both happening at the same time. ~ Shelley

Good morning, Mimi! It's interesting because I have been discussing the Griffin & Sabine Trilogy with you here at Webshots and also with a woman at a discussion forum at the same time, and both of you have said that you need to re-read the books again in order to figure out that ending. lol She's also ordering the second trilogy ... The Morning Star Trilogy, so it will be interesting to see what we all think of that one too. Yes, I am very familiar with Jane Roberts. I read her books back in the '70s. She was great. As to the ending of the first trilogy, it does seem to address quantum physics and moving beyond the linear time mindset. The theory is that all lifetimes are happening at the same time ... past, present, future. It's not difficult at all to time-travel on a non-physical level, but to be able to send mail is quite another thing! ;-) lol Oh, and I knew that you meant that Outlander would grab my interest. I was merely trying to give you a heads up about the fact that I don't breeze through books very quickly ... not good ones, anyway. ;-) Although, when it comes to research, I read very quickly. It's probably because it doesn't engage my imagination. That's what slows me down. Oh, you must read a Robert Ludlum novel! He's the best there is at spy novels. I was reading one of his books, The Prometheus Deception, when 9/11 occurred, and OMG ... talk about similarities ... right down to the anthrax! You've got to read one of his books ... you will NOT be disappointed!! I have the illustrated Da Vinci Code but haven't got around to reading it yet. Saw the movie instead and just loved it!! ~ Shelley

Hi Mimi. Ohhh, I hate it when messages are lost like that. Sorry that happened to you. I'm so glad you're going to get the second trilogy. As to the first, I couldn't help but think of the movie "The Lake House" while reading it and wondering if maybe they were dealing with some sort of time distortion or parallel universe, etc. I'm looking forward to when you re-read the ending again, because I'd love to discuss it with you. I'm starting to read Outlander now. And no, you're not wrong -- I have no doubt it will grab me! I should warn you, though ... I'm a slow reader. I'm afraid I'm a lot like Steven Spielberg in that regard. He's so visual, being a movie director and everything, that it's difficult for him to read quickly ... or so he claimed in an interview once. And I'm the very same way. It probably has to do with the fact that, like him, I'm so visual and have a photographic memory, so when I read books, I like to take my time and imagine everything that I'm reading in great detail. I don't just skim over books like a lot of people who are very fast readers. I really take my time and absorb everything! And this book will no doubt take a while to read ... but who knows, I might become so engrossed that I can't put it down. I'm that way with spy novels (my favorite). I love anything by Robert Ludlum. Have you read any of his books? Wow, I had no idea that Outlander was available on audio tape. I bet it sounds amazing!! I grew up in a Scot/Irish home too (well, along with German, English, Dutch, and a little Native American ... lol), and my grandfather was from Ireland. I love the accents of both Ireland and Scotland, but I think my favorite accents are French and Italian. I may have to take a short detour from reading Outlander once I receive the second trilogy, but that shouldn't take too long. Although, who knows ... maybe I'll be so engrossed in Outlander I won't want to! ;-) ~ Shelley

Yes still seekin that missin link...profiles are whimsical changes almost impulse.I feel and react without too much analasys at visual thought..if that makes sense.Lately I am walking beside me...it all seems unreal...some cinemascope without edges and vibes of passers-by..prod me...like minute shocks that say...I know you..and you cannot avoid Me.Apart from that things are Normal...in my opinion. You sure are a balanced person...and all things have appropriate positions in your Universe..I guess that typifies the Female aspect..but I will not generalize that point.Funny thing I found lets say a second Doctor..who is excellent and from India...guess what ..he says I should consider Yoga...take a few yrs to attain standard..but thinks this Caucasian has Potential for elevation..Good Night Mimi...........

Mimi, Thanks for stopping by to see my album Spanish Village in Balboa Park. It is strange you picked the most minimal picture in that album, the lavender bench. Have a great day, Ding (San Diego)

The last postcard was from Sabine to Dr. Matthew Sedon in Kenya. Sabine's last name is still Strohem and her address is San Rosa, Paolo. The postcard reads: "Dear Matthew, It's good to get in touch with you at last. We are very impressed with your general diagnostic abilities. However, we are not convinced you should be considering prescribing penicillin for the Atubi's youngest son. Write soon -- Sabine M. Strohem." Since she refers to the Atubi's youngest son in her postcard, I don't think that was their child. I honestly don't know what to make of that ending. Btw, I have ordered the Morning Star Trilogy, which follows the Trilogy of Griffin & Sabine. I've read mixed reviews about it, some saying that the second trilogy does not include the same characters (Griffin and Sabine) but that it somehow continues the story. I plan to read it even if it involves new characters, because I love the idea of reading these postcards and letters. Have you read the second trilogy? If so, what did you think of it? I will most likely start reading Outlander now. I guess it's time. ;-) ~ Shelley

Hi Mimi. I used to collect beautiful journals and would write in them faithfully. But now I do most of my journaling online because I can type as fast as I can talk, which is a lot easier, though not as pretty. I first heard of Fotki when Webshots made major changes to its site and everyone was thinking of leaving. Some of us ended up over at Fotki, and now a lot of us keep accounts at both Webshots and Fotki. So many nice people ... and the fact that we have photos at both places makes it easier to get to know everyone. Yes, I am really loving these books. Are you reading any books right now? Have a great time at the Art Museum tomorrow! Sounds like it will be a wonderful day. Talk to you again soon. :-) ~ Shelley

Hi Mimi. I agree about how the message system is nice for meeting people here at Webshots. I've never had any problem with that part and, in fact, have met some really nice people here over the years. It's just that when we wanted to discuss things privately or more in-depth, we usually used email. Over at Fotki, we each have our own email account that we can use, as well as the ability to send either private or public messages in our guestbooks. I prefer that system and wish we had it here at Webshots. I like your perspective on it, though. I guess I just got spoiled over at Fotki. ;-) You're so right about the books. I have no doubt I will fall in love with the main characters once I start reading Outlander. And I absolutely love the fact that there are letters inside envelopes in the Griffin & Sabine Triology. I admit I have a special weakness for nice or interesting stationary, even though I rarely use it anymore, so I am especially enjoying that part. I'm glad to get to know you too. :-) ~ Shelley

Hi Mimi. So nice to hear from you. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't even started reading Outlander yet, other than maybe the first page or so. I put the book aside some time ago, attending to other important matters at the time. But after reading what you wrote earlier about Claire's method of time travel, I'm very intrigued! I, too, have been a student of metaphysics, among other things, for many years ... probably since the mid-'70s. I couldn't help see your post to Leon about the Griffin & Sabine trilogy (can never help reading at least the last post someone makes). A friend gave me those books about two years ago as a present, and I completely forgot about them. She thought my interactions with the man in my life were similar and that I'd find them especially interesting as a result. As soon as you mentioned them to Leon, I picked up the first volume and read a few of the pages. What can I say but ... I LOVE it! So now I think I'll read these three books before getting back to Outlander. They're just so special. :-) As I mentioned to Leon, I'm not sure what I think of this whole "live your life on stage" business here at Webshots with their message system. It doesn't feel very private. To be honest, I'm still not sure what I think of it. But it is nice to talk to you and Leon, and others too. It's just difficult to really say anything meaningful without it being "published" for the world, if you know what I mean. ~ Shelley
