Thank you, I really love taking pictures of bromeliads and have a large collection. I just started taking pictures of them for a friend who is allergic to plants but still loves them. The webshots site was the perfect format for sharing the pics with her. I enjoyed viewing your photos and they are very lovely too. I wish we had as many beautiful bromeliads growing in the wild as Brazil does, but it's to cold here. Have a Great New Year and I look forward to seeing more of your beautiful photos.

a New Year's card for my friends: http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2658149750100178050aizZIx ... Beloved, I wish above all things, that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers ... (3 John 2).... I had a wonderful Christmas and hope you did too. I really enjoyed the opportunity of having no presents, probably for the first time in my life. It gave me time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, the unspeakable gift of Jesus and eternal life .... Having no idea how GOD would do it, I DID EXPECT some sort of miracle, thinking I might look behind a tree any minute and see a gift for me .... Around 2PM, miracle arrived: my Peruvian family drove 35 miles, then walked a quarter mile in my snowy road carrying a heavy gift box of food for me. They have very little and I know this came from their own cupboards.... I am blessed beyond compare and I bless the Lord, oh my soul, with all that is within me .... and I pray that you do too :} Mabel

Hello, I`m very impressed about your amazing photos. Until now I`ve never been in Tibet but it is one of my first wishes to go there one time. I´m a member of the non profit German group "Förderkreis Tibethunde e.V." for the rescue of the true tibetan mastiff (do khyi). Since we are a very small group we have set high objectives. The tibetan mastiff had been for a long time an important factor in the tibetan culture, especially the nomad transhumance. In the course of the chinese occupation tibetan mastiff were killed to subvert the nomad culture. The breeding in the western heimisphere begann in the 1970 but was based on only a few individuals. In the present the tibetan mastiff population is fighting against degeneration and ilnesses because of close inbreeding. Althoug these problems ar very known at breeders, the way of thinking is not changing. Mating is only based on the idea of bringing dog-exhibition-champions together but not on the idea to breed healthy dogs. Another important point is, that the tibetan mastiff which are breed nowadays do really not look like the tibetan mastiff living in Tibet. They are too heavy-boned, heavy-weight with wrinkled heads and loosen chaps. Some of these unfortunate dogs are more a cartoon than a tibetan mastiff. We hope to inform people about the true tibetan mastiff and his relevance in tibetan culture. For this we intend to make a brochure about this unique dogs. We do have a lot of photos of our tibetan mastiff here in Europe but we miss photos of mastiff living in Tibet and this type of dog from Mongolia. Among your photos I found a few with dogs and I would be very pleased to get your permission to use them at our brochure. Maybe it ist possible for you to send a couple of photos per email to get a high printing quality. We shurely add your copyright to the photos. Thank you very much for your efforts and answer. I`m looking forward to hear from you again. Best regards Berit Kaier www.dokhyi-tibet-hunde.de www.foerderkreis-tibethun de.de

Hi Estelle. Thank you for your visit to my albums. Yes, the landscapes, culture and peoples of far North and remote India are very Tibetan, and not very touristic. I guess the international boundaries are very recent compared to the length of the civilisation.

Hi Estela, Thank you for your kind words about my Yunnan albums. The yellow flowers are "oil" flowers. You can see such flowers at: http://travel.webshots.com/photo/2219055920080160604fXmxiq The people in Luoping grow such flowers to produce cooking oil. Cheers from Jason, Hong Kong

Hi. You were kind enough to leave a comment when our album "Gardens in Forres" was selected as the featured album a few weeks ago. By way of a thank you to everyone, we decided to go back and take some more photos after the flowers had had a chance to mature a little bit. The new album is called "Fabulous Forres" and we hope that you enjoy it as much as the previous one. Thank you, Elizabeth and Richard.
