Hi Jesi, just like your name, I love being in the woods, or anywhere it is open. It's so much fun to get into some strange spots. Come on, your welcome anytime. ;) Susan

Thanks for the comments. I moved out to Oregon 10 years ago and have never regretted it. I love it out here. Advice for you? Get yourself a good pair of hiking shoes out here... there's lots to see and do. Oh yea... and Gortex!

Thanx for the comment. As you may have noticed, things were kind of dry in the scrub. Spring is well advanced here in the Lake District of the Florida Alps by now but still below normal rain levels. Hope to see some of your photos in the future. catservant

Thanks for looking at my photos and commenting on the lone tree in Capitol Reef casting a shadow. When I originally went to take that picture my own shadow was cast into the frame. At the time I didn't like it so I reframed the shot to exclude myself. Now in retrospect I kind of wished I had taken it. Oh well, I'll just have to go back to Capitol Reef again! Thanks for visiting, Ira

Thank you for your genuine comments on my photos. I hadn't noticed the Z in the clouds on Middle Mountain but after you mentioned it, I saw it clearly. Best Wishes, Candy

Thank you so much for the several comments about my photos. I read them all but will respond once. I used several different cameras. Several photos were taken on a film camera (Canon Elan 7e) with several different lenses, but mostly the Canon 70-200mm f4L. Extension tubes are used for the closeups. The quality of the lens, not the camera is what is important. Recent photos have mostly been taken with a Canon Powershot S2 digital camera. The macro of the buttercup was taken with an inexpensive 3mp Olympus digital that has been replaced with newer models. I gave that camera to my daughter, so I am not sure what model it is. I have many photos at another site where it is easy to indicate what camera, film (if not digital) and lens was used. You are welcome to look: http://www.pbase.com/jhiker

That is not a squirrell in the background of the Elk in front. That is however, another elk in the background. That was taken in Banff N.P. Canada Campground as we were trying to park. It is a wonderful place for nature and pictures. If you haven't, go.
