Greetings, dear Claudia. In answer to your question, Holly (the older) is the pianist and singer and also a good photographer. She took the picture of one of the old houses last week and the cover shot of her sister on my "Miscellany" album. I gave her a digital camera while she was here for a visit. She immediately began using it, and those are two of the photos she made while she was here. Lots of love, Barbara

Accidenti, non riesco a stare dietro ai commenti... mi spiace, perchè siete così gentili e vorrei ringraziare tutti. Mi ha commosso sapere che anche tu chiamavi il tuo papà "papalino". Sì, probabilmente è un retaggio genovese. Quello che tu hai letto è il mio necrologio sul giornale (e la canzone dei Pink Floyd che lui, come me, amava tanto, l'ho fatta suonare in chiesa al posto degli inni sacri... il prete che ha celebrato è un collega, il direttore del giornale cattolico, e ha fatto elegantemente finta di non capire il testo!). Il fatto che tu abbia usato il passato, mi fa pensare che nemmeno tu abbia più il tuo papà. M dispiace sinceramente. A me papà manca come il primo giorno che se n'è andato, sull'autostrada. Per non passare dove è morto a Milano vengo solo in treno! Beh, credo non mi passerà mai il magone. Comunque grazie. Monica

Carissima Claudia, grazie per il tuo caloroso messaggio nel mio featured album! E' stata una bellissima sorpresa e sono soprattutto felice che questa colorata e artistica tradizione delle nostre terre abbia avuto il suo momento di gloria. Certamente gli abitanti di Brugnato lo meritano per il loro paziente lavoro. In merito alle tue domande, vengono fatti prima i disegni sulle strade e poi pian piano vengono messi i petali e le polverine colorate. Tutti gli abitanti partecipano, a turno, a questo (direi faticoso) lavoro. E' un vero peccato che finita la festa, venga ripulito tutto. Noi siamo arrivati presto e abbiamo potuto assistere proprio ai preparativi. Confesso che fino a quest'anno neanch'io conoscevo questa festa! Poi ho scoperto che esiste anche in molti altri paesi italiani. Hello from the Oregon Coast USA!!! Many, many thanks to you Claudia for your friendly words on my featured album BEAUTIFUL ICE SCULPTURES! The fact that you took the time to say something means a great deal to me! You might also enjoy my album PSYCHEDELIC SLED RUNS which were at the ice festival too. The runs were made from blocks of ice and had various colored lights inside the ice. They were sensational! It was all such a wonderful experience to see and I am so thrilled to be able to bring the beauty to your computer screen! It took many trips to the park at many different times of the day and night. One early morning when I ventured out it was -26 degrees Fahrenheit (-32 C). I wondered if my camera or I were going to freeze and turn into a pile of ice crystals!! Thanks again! -Randy
