Part two. I ran out of "space." I think I told you I went there to find a small dog. I don't know how or why, but I saw her and that was it. You know how bad she looked, so it was a real surprise to see her develop into a gorgeous and healthy cat. I got lucky! Now you have all the facts! Thanks for asking about them; I get teary when I tell the story, but that is probably a good thing. Have a wonderful weekend, Jade. Gloria

Hi Jade, I guess what you want is the "long" story. You must have misread, it "took weeks" (not two weeks)to get her to that point. She was on meds after meds for about two months. It was a bit touch and go and lots of worry on my part. I picked her out the day before she had the kittens. I was afraid to take on the responsiblity until she had them so that is the reason I didn't get her out of there in the beginning. When I finally got through the red tape of "fostering" her and the kittens, three of them were already gone. She was not producing milk and no one noticed that was what was wrong. And...because she was "feeding" the kittens the shelter stopped giving her her medication to prevent the kittens from getting it through the milk. I visited her and because she didn't mess around with her own kind all the kittens were different colors and didn't look a bit like her. The day I got her and the one kitten out, I went directly to a vet and got her checked over and new medication. The little one was pretty weak, but I tried my best to take care of it. Lola would have nothing to do with it and I had never done that before so unfortunately it didn't work out that well. The kitten only lived less than 24 hours at home. Lola gained three pounds in the first two months that I had her and that was very good. I had to hook her up to fluids for about a week and that was what really helped her the most. When she was back to good health I wouldn't return her to the shelter for the required spaying and shots. I did arrange for them to give her the shots in their office rather than around any other animals, and I had a vet take care of the spaying. I didn't want to take a chance that she would get sick all over again and the shelter was really very helpful. They even waived the adoption fees to compensate me for her treatment. So, that is the long and the long of it. I think that's one of the reasons why she is so special to me. We have been through a lot together and fought the fight together.

Hi Jade, the year is correct at 1998; they were married two years later. As for the order, they may not be perfect, but it's the best I could do under the circumstances. xo

Hi Jade---thanks for enjoying my wildflowers album. I feel so lucky to live in an area with a wide selection of great places to go photographing. The spring wildflowers were quite good this are as you could plainly see.

Thank you for the nice comments regarding Carolyn Kelsey's Art and my Tiny Flying Buddies. I especially liked the comment about the personality of the kites. I took a bag of kites to the park last evening and posted four photos on my walk 22, starting at: http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2177291920102949293TrPzLU

Hiiiii Jade!!! How good to hear from you!! Glad you liked my cc entries for last week ... haven't even started on this week yet ... heavens!!! You mentioned Fire in the Sky ... yes, I have a whole mess of shots from that crazy sunset sitting here in the computer. They are just SO CREEPY and unusual looking that I haven't been able to convince myself to put them up on Webshots yet!! Seriously!!! It was SOOOO WEIRD!!! I may try to get to this soon, though, and make some decisions. I was out front clicking away ... decided the zoom was the wrong lens, ran inside switched lenses to the wide angle and ran upstairs to the upper deck ... that's when I shot the one through the transom. So glad you got a kick out of it!! Take care and enjoy your weekend, hon!!! Hugs ... Lois

Glad you liked my framing photos. Hope you will check a couple of my newer albums with ducks and birds and such. I have so few areas of interest here without driving miles and that isn't going to happen with these gas prices, so some shots will look a bit familiar after awhile. I'm looking forward to your "walk" this weekend. Regards, Gloria

Thanks for your visit to my picture of the stone shoe. It is about 3 inches long, so would make a paperweight, but not a door stop. Thanks for commenting. Joan

Hi Jade, Thank you very much for all your kind comments in my albums. With regard to your query about the old house in my album "An Essex Village in March", I asked my daughter about it and she said that it is about 300 years old. Apparently the low door is a give away, as people were not as tall then as they are now. They seem to have added onto the original building. Also the house does slope. It is not my photography! Best wishes, Kathryn
