Me again...one of these days I'll take the time to go inside the Queens park building and get some shots. It was a very cold windy day when I took the current shot and I just wanted to get home and get warm. I was sick for the next three days after getting blown to bits out there..LOL so it will be a while before I go back. I'll keep you in mind when I do finally get inside and try to get some interesting shots. See ya...Fay

In answer to your question yes Waite was from Buffalo NY. There is no Buffalo in Canada. Being an architect himself, I imagine that is why he was asked to be an adjudicator. No wonder there was controversy. The only excuse I can think of, is that none of the other submissions suited the panel of judges. Oh well, what's new? There seems to always be those hanky panky types of things going on in government and there still is today.LOL

Thank you for your kind words about my lighthouse photo jade. Unfortunately, they don't allow visitors to enter the tower of Portland Head Lighthouse. It's off limits. There is a small museum inside with neat artifacts of the lighthouse they collected over the last 200 years though.

Hi Jade: My neighbors ... what neighbors? :-) just kiddin'. I originally tried my black "Lange" ski boots but I decided my red boots went much better with my red "face" and my green "ski pants". ;-) Marv (BerryMan)

Yo Jade--- re: Nojoqui Falls. Actually that WAS taken on a "walk in the park". Nojoqui is a regional Santa Barbara county park. This falls is only about a 10 minute walk from parking on a path through a densely wooded area. Lovely and scenic

Hi Jade: Thanks for "stoppin' by"! See below link for the "enclosed-in-envelop e" 2007 card. What you saw in the challenge is the "on-line version". To get an idea how I made my 2007 card I've added my digital (reference) photos of the "cap, skis and boots". As I wrote in the challenge entry, I have previous years' cards and they are my "Marv's Stuff 2" album. I began with rubber-stamps and used the logo "BerryMark Cards" with a "strawberry" for several years before (BerryMan) made his "computerized entrance" in 2000 (or 2001). Hiiiiii Jade!!! How the heck are ya, hon??? I wanted to get back to you ... you know me well enough by now to know I love a good story as much as I love a good photo ... but I have to be honest!! The fall from the ski lift ... was indeedy ... technically a fall from the ski lift!! What I (wickedly) didn't mention, is that I was actually exiting the chair ... I was ON the ground ... when the slats in the chair grabbed at the powder toggles in my BRAND NEW COAT ... and as the chair whipped around to the left, I was heading right. I went down on my arm ... hard ... which caused all my troubles!! So, yes, I DID have the bar down, and no, nobody playfully knocked me off 30 feet up in the air!! But that does make a better story, doesn't it??? haha!! Take care!! Always soooo cool to know you've been by to see me!!! Hugs ... Lois

Hi Jade: Thanks for your comment on my "Don't Dali" WS entry. I wasn't sure how many WS Community members knew who Dali was or understood the connection of my entry to his "limp watches". Even the owner of the clock didn't understand it. The previous thumbnail (last photo in the album) shows the mirror). Marv (BerryMan) P.S. I decided play-down the "Don't Dali/dally" title pun. M

Hi Jade, Thank you for your encouraging comments on my challenge entries. Still keeping my fingers crossed that one of these days I might get a mention in the top three. I find it hard to know just what they're looking for. Good luck to you, Tony.

RE: "Monk in Robe and Cowl - Harrison Fisher" (1875-1934) --- this illustration is in Fisher's book America Beauties; my research "seems to reveal" the verse is from a poem by Clinton Scollard, (1860-1932); Several of Fisher's books had poetry/verses accompanying his illustrations. I have an extensive collection of his works. Thanks for visiting my albums; your many albums are so lovely --- I spend hours browsing: I have a "summerjade 'folder' in MY BOOK (hard drive).

If you would like to see some of the night time shots go to http://entertainment.webshots.com/album/560536515yIKjoE?vhost=entertainment This is by jade_ca who took some lovely night photo's. I usually go in the daytime to get the more detailed shots of the displays.
