Jade said: Congratulations! All of you must be very proud and excited about this great result! Now, you know we are all just wondering- what's your next project?? Ira says: Yes we love the gazebo. It was a lot of work, to the exclusion of my other hobbies and it took me about 6 weeks longer than I thought it would (I thought I could get it done in 4 weeks but it took me from Memorial Day to Labor Day) but it has given me a great sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. I'm afraid that the next project I'm planning is not nearly as glamorous. I'm going to install some shelves in my closet! :-)

Jade said: Do I see copper flashing? Ira says: Yes

Jade said: Did you carry up a compass to find north or was it already marked on the shingles while still on the ground? Ira says: I used a compass to locate north but I did it from the ground, not from the roof.

Jade, all the pictures that have me in them were taken by my wife. All others I took

Jade wrote: If you have made some openings to allow heat to escape into and through this coupola, could you take a photo from inside looking up? Just curious. ;-) Ira says: If you look at some of the pictures of the framing you'll see the square open box at the center that I eventually fastened the cupola to.

Hi Jade ... thanks for your comments in my albums. I've gone back to work and sadly don't have much time for visiting but I appreciate your writing! Life is what it is and I'm grateful to have a good job as church secretary at our own church! ... Hugs, Judy

Heavens, it's me again!! I had to thank thank thank you for the wonderful info you left earlier today!! I had no idea my mountain man ... greenman ... had a history!! I'm so tickled to read about him and can't wait to show my husband what you were kind enough to tell us!!! Way cool!!! Also, I'd never heard that about the Queen Anne's Lace and the spot of blood! We had tons of those at my grandmother's farm ... it was routine to take long walks every Sunday, before and after dinner ... and the Queen Anne's Lace was always a wonder ... the little flowerlet in the center always mesmerized me ... and now I know all about it!! Way WAY cool!!! I'm a little nutz for back stories and history ... you've given me two marvelous gifts today!!! Many, many thanks!!! Very best regards ... Lois

Hello again, dear Jade!! Thank you so much for stopping by my little challenge entries, you sweetie!! Those macro entries were a hoot, weren't they? I got a big kick out of trying to guess everyone's entries. My three were a wicker basket, the bicycle gears and chain mechanism on my son's mountain bike, and the porcelain / icing flowers are actually part of a watering can!! Here's a link to that one: http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/2938942250012195579POZZMX?vhost=home-and-garden Always great hearing from you, hon!! Best regards ... Lois

Thanks! You, Henri and Detlef are right. It is the biggest S. in my Garden. I have three different kinds. This one is Autumn Joy. I love it. If my blue lobelia blooms at the same time, they look so pretty together. This year my great blue lobelias did bloom earlier. Thanks again, it was great to hear from you.

Thanks for visiting my Macro Mystery entries. That first entry is actually ground black pepper. I sneezed a lot after taking the photo. LOL The second one is a side view of a tv remote control. The third entry is a row of staples in my stapler.

Hi, Jade! I just found the comment you left a couple weeks ago on the remodeling album. I was on a two week visit to Grand Teton and Yellowstone - now I have about 4000 pictures to go through, so I'm trying to stay off Webshots 'til I get that done. Four years waiting for a contractor, and no dishwasher or living room furniture? You must have the patience of a saint. We bought our "unique fixer-upper" 13 years ago and have been doing most of the work ourselves. Since my husband spends 10 hours a day at the office, the job is taking forever. At least the living room, dining room, bedroom and two bathrooms are done, also phase 1 of the kitchen, so we aren't living in chaos. Hope your builder turns up! Chris
