Oh oh... now I mixed up the windows and doors challenge with the home town challegne, in my last message. Sheesh. Please delete it and I will try again.

Actually I am a Pisces, but I think I finally understand! When I said *How does having recommended the challenge..... make one qualified to be the sole and only judge of who wins?*, I was referring to the statement made in the Home Town Challenge winners announcement where Jessica stated: *The Creative Challenge: Windows and Doors was suggested by Amy at Webshots, so it is only fair that she got to look through all your wonderful entries and choose the winner*. In other words, I was saying that just because someone (Amy) had their recommendation for the challenge topic selected, this does not automatically make them a good judge. But when you said *I can't believe Jessica said she suggested Hometown Pride!*, I took that to mean that Jessica had somewhere claimed SHE (Jessica herself) suggested Home Town Pride. But what you meant was that you could not believe Jessica said AMY suggested home town pride, when it was you who said it, right? Well, if Jessica really thinks her logic is valid, YOU should have selected the winner since YOU suggested it. This means the hometown challenge winners are now void and invalidated and the challenge needs to be re-judged by you. Plus if you are pregnant it makes you even more qualified to be the judge! So you get busy and go pick the top three winners of the home town challenge ASAP! I will get an email off to Jessica letting her know that the home town challenge has been voided and is being re-judged by the person who really suggested it. Also, we need to make sure that the person who suggested the latest challenge has selected the winners. We certainly would not want inconsistency!

Hiya Jade. I could not find where Jessica said she suggested the home town pride challenge (?). I did see you getting credit for it, as you should. What am I missing? -Randy

So, Jade, does this mean I'm slowly winning you over? Just look at one amazing lighthouse album and you can see why vertical is just so strong, has such a strong impact!! Leslie!

Fraud and Copyright Infringement Notice ~ Here is a quote from Kelli's album commentary "just some photos taken all over the state of colorado and a few in south/north dakota...Many of the scenery photos to include most of the waterfall photos were taken from my moms Camera...I found them on her memory card and computer" end quote!!! Kelli's plagiarism and photo theft has been proven again and again and again, there are hundreds of stolen images in her albums!!! There is a conversation thread on our message forums with many many URL hyperlinks to the original photographers and artists websites and sources proving her illegal actions. I don't understand why her account is still active and her stolen images still on view on Webshots with her false claims of ownership! We recommend Kelli Mays account be terminated immediately by Webshots and all her albums removed from this website!! Here is the link to Kelli's album, please flag this page! ~ http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/555650423pvuvrI?track_pagetag=/page/photo/outdoors/scenerynature&track_action=/BreadCrumb/Album ~ and here is a link to the original photographer's site where Kelli gleaned and stole the images, then posted them in her albums claiming them as taken from her mother's camera! ~ http://www.ramblincameras.com/Cdscenicsth.htm ~ Thank you in advance for your help in protecting our copyrights and the copyrights of others, as well as improving the integrity of Webshots!

The challenge hours posted are Webshots hours which is California as per their instructions (lucky for me, same as me!) "4. The Creative Challenge runs from 12:01 a.m. on August 15 to 3:00 p.m. on August 20 (all times PDT)" I don't know where you live, Jade, but you have to accommodate the schedule within your waking hours or you'll go mental!! BTW, I don't remember giving you those "instructions" or in what context. Look on the bright side, the people in Europe may get to start sooner but that means they also have to stop sooner!~~~Leslie

BTW, I see that you've been reading Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series, I read it the first year it came out and completely loved it! Hope you have!

Actually, Jade, I quite often download vertical shots. A lot of people take vertical shotsalso!Webshots has no difficulty in accomodating vertical shots with whatever background you chose for your computer. Just as many people have panoramas, they also are accomodated that way! Anyway, I'm still putting my token vertical shot for every Challenge! It's my choice!~~~~Cheers, Leslie

Hi Jade...I think it might be nice if they at least had an "Honourable mention" category for the entries, but I suppose that would mean more work for the staff. I just remind myself that I have fun taking the shots, and I do learn a lot from looking at other's entries. I've only been shooting for 2½ years with my digital so am a rank amateur compared to some members. I have a little point and shoot Sony camera, none of the high tech macro, telephoto lens etc. but I'm happy with my shots, and if others enjoy them too that's a bonus. Hope to see Yoda on the challenge next week. TTFN Fay

Jade, No need to worry- during the week it's only a brief delay.

One of my sons taught me the Control-F search trick, with a roll of the eyes that anyone could exist and not know THAT. It is a big help. There are so many entries I never get to all of them. BTW you are on Weekend Warrior now, and I'm sure you weren't, so I'll bet you did get caught in the spam filter. Somewhere I read a warning about multiple entries on one post getting filtered out and not going up until the Webshots staff checks them. They don't do it on weekends, so your entries would show up on Monday.
said cabrosh
Duhhhhhh why didn't I think of that...LOL There are so many entries now (hundreds) that it is hard to keep up. I'll try your suggestion from Yoda. By the way have not seen any messages from Yoda on the entries board for quite some time. I always find them so amusing. I hope everything is ok, do you know? Fay

many, many thanks Jade for your kind words on my sepia entries..i get such a thrill that people look and then take the time to comment on my photos...take care, lorraine

Hi Jade..I don't know about you, but sometimes I get totally lost when I am checking out the members entries for the challenges. IF I don't remember to make a note of where I left off,(and sometimes I don't remember) I then can't figure out just where I was and have to go the "by guess and by golly" route..LOL I often miss entries it seems (I find out when the winners are announced), but by then it's kinda late. I often spend hours at a time checking entries and of course the rest of my life suffers..LOL I'm sure others probably have the same problem as there are so many photo's in these challenges. Anyway, long story short...Hang in there and keep entering ok? TTFN Fay

Hi, Jade. That's partially the neighbor's yard in the red grass photo. There's a big gas pipeline that runs through our yards and no one can build or let things with deep roots grow over it. His section has a drop off at the end which makes a better horizon, but it all looks like that about 2 weeks every fall. I'm not too fond of blackeyed susans myself. There were some in a wildflower mix, and they've reseeded everywhere.

Hi Jade, Thank you for your nice message to my Sepia photo. I really appreciate it! Ethel

Hi Jade: Thank You for your kind messages on my Entries. On the "Grubstake Inn" entry, it is from a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" B & W negative (Rollicord twin-lens reflex). I took it in 1960 or 1961. BTW: I have not been able to view and comment on many other entries this week. I had to replace my PC and it has taken me a bit of time to get it "up-to-speed". Marv (BerryMan)

Hi Jade, I was very pleased you enjoyed the video. I usually do one each time I do a walk. I don't put them on the web as the quality is very poor, on DVD they look fine. I usually have a quick look at the map, have a smalll compass on my watch and off I go. I was brought up in the country so have a good sense of direction. The problem only comes if you have a fall, I have but never serious. I don't bother with trails, the best walks are the ones you just go and do your own thing. I do have a cell phone but there isn't always a signal in the hills. Not sure about speaking, you probably wouldn't understand me.LOL. Take care, all the best, Pete.
