Hi Jade, many thanks for your thoughts on my sepia challenge photos. It's been fun playing with the sepia and I have enjoyed the challenge. I agree with your comments on my mom's postcard, how different the postal system was then! Cheers! Carole

Hi Jade, thanks for dropping by and for your words of appreciation. Now, coloured pencil, I have tried the modern versions and they are not as good as what I use which is "Adobe Photo Deluxe 4.0". I think I got it in 1999 so don't know if it is still about. You choose your colour with this one which is the big plus. Once again you will need to play with brightness and contrast to get the results you want. Beeing this old I don't know if it would still be illegal to make copies. Drop Adobe a line, they may help. All the very best, Pete.

Thanks for pointing out where a precedent had been set previously with a top 3 winners collage! To me, that makes a big difference. This home town collage win did not involve a manipulation of rules after the fact. It was not the cover-up that it appeared to be! Yippee! It is always amazing what a little teamwork and cooperation can do! And teamwork is really what I would love to see more of! Thanks again! -Randy

Jade, thank you so very much for your recent visit and kind remarks about my Cades Cove File album. I have been extremely fortunate to be in the right place at some very opportune times, and the results remain very pleasing to me and many others. I'm happy you are in that group. Again, thank you, Fred

Hi Jade, I just wanted to thank you for your gracious comment on my Cemetery picture during the challenge. Thank you so much. I know anytime I see that Irish colored rose pop up, that something special is going to be shared. All the best to you, Brent.

I think there is an opportunity to improve the winner selection process here by convincing Webshots to use a team of members to select the winners. How does having recommended the challenge, or being pregnant, or having home town pride make one qualified to be the sole and only judge of who wins? This was the criteria that Jessica mentioned she had used. It just does not make sense! Plus a team effort is really always the best solution! And being judged by our peers must be more equitable than having Jessica pick one person with who knows how little knowledge or how much experience or bias, to select the winners? We can make the process more palatable and acceptable and more fun if we can convince them to use a member team! Please help! Get in on the discussion in the blog! And ask your friends to too! Let's demand that a team of members be used to select the challenge winners! Thanks, -Randy

Hi Jade, thank you for your comments in my album of Chester, a lot of Chester is totally original, some has been repaired or made safe but we have original Roman Ruins, including an Roman Amphitheatre which half has now been unearthed, they are presently working on the other half, recent rain in the UK has slowed it down. To walk all the way around the Walls is about 2 miles, its great, I actually live 2 miles from the City, thank you for your interest and thank you again, take care Ann (Chester England)

Hi again Jade. You are welcome to the recipe. I would guess that Quinces must be pretty sour if 4 lbs. of sugar are needed. Mouse

Hi again SJ. I haven't found any way that Friends can get each other's email addresses. I think you may be mistaken about that idea. I wouldn't want my email address abused either but that hasn't happened. The only way anyone communicates with me is on my message boxes here at WS, whether they are a Friend, Fan, or just leaving a message. I remember the hub-bub about it all, and I didn't think Friends would be used as a veiled dating service... unless people gave out their own email addresses on purpose. I think Friends is nice way for people to actually make online friends around the world (with no interest in dating or anything else they aren't interested in). I like making online friends without sharing email addresses unless I chose to with someone about something in particular... certainly NOT dating! :) My concern about WS are the perverts who are posting ##### pictures and gathering nests of Friends, Fans, and messages, exchanging email addresses, etc., all for the singular purpose of sharing ##### interests. This is REAL and PRESENT danger that we all need to fight together to get rid of and keep out. I wrote a message on the Challenge blog about this blight we have going on here at WS. Blessings, Judy

Hi SJ! That's cool that your suggestion for this new challenge was submitted by you and selected! Way to go! Any clues on what to enter? :) I want to invite you to join my list of Webshots Friends, but that function is not working on my account for some unknown reason. I've asked Webshots for help and they said they did/would/will... but it still doesn't work. So I have to ask you to send me an invitation instead of initiating myself. Would you please? Blessings, Judy

Hello Jade...Don't be discouraged. There is nothing wrong with your WW shots at all. Your tomato's in particular are gorgeous. Try to remember that it is the weekend, lots of people are away and it seems to be taking a while for the WW to "catch on". It is not as popular as the regular challenges as many members I think, prefer to use shots they already have, but this challenge requires you to shoot a new photo. I try to enter my shots on Friday's. Thankfully most of them have been indoors, so I can set them up and snap away. If it's an outdoor shot, I make that my Saturday project. Of course, not everyone has the time to do that (I'm retired) but it works for me. Please keep on entering and I PROMISE I'll check out your shots and leave you a message OK? Have a great day...Mouse (Fay)

Thanks so very much for your comment on my Challenge Entry photo. Please know that I REALLY do appreciate the effort on your part! I hope you also had had a chance to see the albums that the photos came from (CAPE BLANCO LIGHTHOUSE, HECETA HEAD LIGHTHOUSE, and AURORA TRAIN OF ALASKA). I also uploaded a new photo last night to my MARCH OF THE SETTING SUN photo-documentary album, that you might also enjoy. And two new photos at the end of my APPRECIATION album were also uploaded last night (TOUCHING and MONTBRETIA OVER FERN). Thanks again and have a wonderful week! -Randy

Hi Jade, sorry for the delay, the new baby (Jag) is keeping me busy.LOL All the nails are needed as the castle door is laminated to give it strength. As for the knocker, they would have crossed the moat and passed through the outer door before they got this far into the castle. All the very best, Pete.

Jade, I never even considered my bookcase photo for the challenge. There have been only 2 things on my mind for the last few weeks - the gazebo and work (10-11 hour days for the past 2 weeks)I'll consider entering it. Actually I have a window pictue that I like a lot but it is vertical. Maybe I'll stick that in for fun.You are right that I don't have a Longwood Gardens Album but almost every photo in my flowers album except for the 2 yello lily pictures, were taken at Longwood. Maybe I should move the 2 lily pictures out and rename the album. Because the gazebo has been taking up all my free time since Memorial day, I haven't been out to shoot. I'm going through Longwood withdrawl. I hope to get back there in another week or 2. Have a great weekend. Ira

Thank you for coming by tonight to look at my album. I actually knitted the hat to fit the hydrants. Normally I would take the picture and leave the hat for others to enjoy but I btought it back home with us. My plan is to take that hat's photo in other states. This is the groups website. http://www.knittaplease.com/
