Thanks for visiting my latest pictures. That Aqueduct water bridge is really unique, the only one still operating in the U.S. I was quite surprised at the 'Bridges of Madison County', several are almost identical, same builder. The Iowa windmill is also a museum, lots of 'Danish' history and items for sale. They even had a special exhibit about Victor Borge, which was interesting.

I am a glutton for punishment, I was thinking if I did that 3 days a week, my heart probably would get to where it didnt thump nearly as loudly in my ears, etc.

P.S. yea, I love that moss staircase....Bilbo's lookout, and sliding back down he picks up fuzz for his feet. Very handy tree to have, solves two things in one

Hi Sam, Thank you for so many great reactions to my Silver Falls album. It truely is one of Gods Blessings, and 10 falls in all. And lots of little surprises in the forest there. 2 years ago we were there for our second time and I was just busy busy at taking pictures. And I snapped on of the greenery growing up the hillside, using the flash..........as soon as the flash went off I heard a growl!!! Probably a mama cougar but I didnt stay long enough to find out. Funny how fast a person can move in stealth mode

Hi Sam, thank you for your recent visit to my Melbourne album. Those mosaics are marvellous, aren't they? Wish they used more traditional decorative arts when they create buildings these days...it all seems to be modern art these days, which (call me old fashioned) reeks of the Emperor's new clothes to me! Wishing you a happy week, Jane.

Hello Sam - it was so lovely of you to visit my new album and I'm so glad you liked what you saw. I just put some information on the album about the sanctuary, which is one of my favourite places, a place of utter peace and serenity, surrounded by superb scenery. I hope all is well with you and yours. Take care....Sue

Hi, Sam, Thanks very much for your generous and detailed comments on photos in my albums on Herefordshire southwest of the Golden Valley (2007) and Penzance, Cornwall (2008). I am delighted that you appreciated the peaceful beauty of the Herefordshire hills below the Black Mountains -- a historically rich countryside that is now a peaceful agricultural backwater, which my husband and I love. From your own pictures of woodland, old country buildings, and quiet corners, I think that you would also love it. Apologies for being so late in replying to your messages; I have just returned from a trip that involved some weeks without Internet access -- Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful week to come! -- Thanks again, Rebecca

Dear Sam, I'm sorry to be so very late returning to thank you for your visit to my bumble bee album, and for your always entertaining and welcome comments! Thank you. I am sadly behind in my correspondence at the moment. Also, gotta ask, "Bee be nimble..I bee be bumble...you bee gone before Bee rumble" - love it! Is that a nursery rhyme, or did you make it up? Either way, made me smile a big smile! Have a great week dear friend, Jane.

Hi, Sam, Thanks very much for your kind comment on my second album on Coleton Fishacre Garden, south Devon, England (2008), including a view of one of the carpets of ivy there. I really appreciate your stopping by! The relatively gentle and moist climate of southwestern England seems to encourage the thriving of varieties of ivy particularly well, so you would love the gardens there! (Greenway Garden, a little way up the River Dart, was similarly lush, for example, as was Glendurgan Garden in southern Cornwall.) Best wishes to you and your family for a wonderful week, Rebecca

I see, well read, that you went to the apple orchard today. Those pics of the white blossoms are from only two trees that still had their blossoms on....they caught my eye and I couldnt get away from them. reaching up to the blue and all the way to the ground just covered in blossome. My daughter Brenda (pbratt79) went with me and it really is interesting to see the different takes and styles in the two of us.....her album is totally gorgeous, wonderful lighting and she has only been photographing for a year.....I think you can tell I am proud of her....thanks for your friendship Sam...Di

Hello, Sam, Thank you very much for your kind comment on one of my pictures of a spring garden in Dornoch, northeastern Scotland (1999). I really appreciate your taking the time to write, and I am delighted that you enjoyed the view of the lovely tulip borders! The picture, from a digitised slide, does not really do justice to the original slide, much less to the original scene, but it does give some idea of the care and love put into even small Scottish gardens. I hope that you are enjoying a delightful weekend! Best wishes, Rebecca
