Hey Sam Now you know how I have survived this life - a sense of humor. I'm glad you enjoyed the "Senior Moments".

Hey Sam Thank you for visiting the Museum and for all your lovely comments - and feel free to comment on all the pictures you like. I will try to answer your questions. The flowers you ask "crocus" - no, but I don't know their name. Crocus is an early Spring flower here. This one blossoms in the Fall. The twisted Chimneypot was in those days the Blacksmith's advertising sign. People could see it from a distance. And thanks for your kind words about my artwork. I have put your name forward as the one who got me there - and in a way you did. So maybe you'll winn something - who knows. I've been thinking - do you have Photoshop or anything like it??

Thanks again for your reply Sam. I hope to get to Monticello soon too. Now that I have a son and daughter-in-law living in VA, I have a good excuse to visit there. Charlottesville also has a huge photo convention each year which I want to attend, so I will be there soon. Mike

Hey Sam Thank you so much for visiting my Churchyards album and for all your lovely comments. I happened to pass by and ended up staying for hours - there was no end to the pictures i just had to take. I have no relatives there it's mainly the rich and/or famous who are burried there. The maintenance is up to the families and most of the graves are kept very well. Lots of fresh flowers.

Hello Sam - I was overwhelmed at the amount of comments you left on my various albums and for that I thank you sincerely. I was humbled by the lovely things you said. This is for you, unfortunately not written by me : "Every artist dips his brush in his own soul and paints his own nature into his pictures". I haven't been present at webshots much lately but hopefully my presence will return when time allows. I have just brought my first DSLR Olympus E520 camera and am going to Bali next month for 2 weeks. I am excited at the prospect of taking lots of photos there and will look forward to sharing them with my friends here at webshots. Thanks again for your kindness, Sam. Regards....Sue

Thanks Sam! Now that I read your info, I do seem to recall watching a programme about George Vanderbilt that featured Biltmore castle in it - what a fantastic place it is! And yes, we had the most fabulous time in Scotland...have you ever been? As a dedicated golf nut, I can assure you you would love it. We were only there 2 days, we drove 600 miles, spending the night in Inverness-shire. Luckily it was light until 10.30 p.m.! The place is thick with golf courses, and Glenn's eyes were out on stalks. He did not play once, but is keen to do so in the future. A (rich!) golfing friend of his is about to go to Scotland on a specialist tour, 13 days of playing British open courses, he is green with envy! It really is the most breathtaking country, especially the highlands and around Loch Lomond...we can't wait to go back, for much longer next time. We were so lucky though that we had 2 sunny, lovely days (not that common, apparently!). You should start saving your pennies and GO!!!!!!

Sam, thanks for strolling through my garden, the red rhodie is a beauty I agree it is over 8 ft tall, rhododendron is the Washington state flower they grow wild here, but seems all the wild ones are pink, you are right the neighbors love it when the phlox and the thyme bloom on the hillside, they see it way better than we do, but it was a real task planting it! You are right the shade garden is coral bells, hosta and columbine, very smart guy. I grow my bleeding hearts on the east side of the house so they only get morning sun complete shade in the afternoon or they cannot take it here either way to hot in the afternoon on the south or especially west side! My calla lilies are one of my favorite things and everyone in the neighborhood is jealous, they are in the shade all afternoon too, and they are about 6 feet tall. The back where the dahlias etc are is the hummingbird garden they especially love the tall red Lucifer Crocosmia, if you want to attract them that is the flower to do it. Hope I answered all your questions, and thanks for the name for my one ground cover the purple aubretia, I could not remember that name, and people kept saying it was phlox, no that is the hillside. I will be adding more flowers as they bloom and welcome you to stroll through anytime, I appreciate all the nice comments hugs, Rhonda

Hey Sam Yes, I also love the old pictures and have so many more I haven't had time to sort yet. Today I went to a village not far from Copenhagen - there was a small local museum - it was like entering into another century - pictures will follow soon.

Hey Sam, Thank you for visiting - always a pleasure. The old gentleman is (was) my uncle. He was quite a character. You can se him and my aunt in the album Ladies in Limelight (the picture Me & my Buddy) - that's them when they were young. The opening photo is my aunt. He was actor/writer/carpentor/ma nager in this little variety / Vaudeville theatre and that was their life for 25-30 years.

Have a pleasant day and take care!! Deb
