HI, Your daughter is very pretty. You may have told me her name before, but I forgot. I have been working for two days with a neighbor putting a slideshow together for her daughter's 25th wedding anniversary. Really quite tired of the computer now......more later. Hugs, Carol

Hi Mary Ann, I haven't seen or heard from you for awhile. I often think about you and wonder how you are doing. Hope all is wellwith you and your family. By the way, if you want to see what it looks like at my place, you can go to my site and look at my album (or start of one) which is showing the surroundings on 2 sides of me.. the side and the back. I hope to add a few more shots t othis album of the front area and the other side. I have the photos .. just no time to move them to the album. I keep hoping for a block of time that I will be able to do that soon!(And make a few more albums too. Anyway, don't stay away so long.. Tho I see that you've been busy here and lots of your friends have kept you busy with messages. Take care, my sweet friend ~~~ Jodi

HI Mary Ann, I thought it would be better late than never in answering your questions on my Carmel Creek Ranch album: Thanks for visiting my Ranch album. This ranch happened to be within 3 miles of my house. Rancho Santa Fe (North of Carmel Valley) is horse country and they have held world class Equestrian events there. Of course I’d like to shoot action photos there when the opportunity arises. For this album, the horses are idling lazily enjoying the sun just like I was. Farm Implement 1: I think the wagons are pretty level even if the back wheels are larger. The front wheel axle seems lower than the back wheel axle. Horse 15: I didn’t notice the single head coincidence until you noticed it. This type horse also has thicker hooves and hind legs. It almost looks like the kind that pulls the Budweiser cart. They are certainly not for racing or speed like the other horses in the album. Donkey 1: I was really up close with this donkey. I framed the shot that way to not show the fence. He was about a foot from my lens at this point. Most of the donkeys and horses are very friendly but I decided not to touch them since I heard, some of them may bite! Horse 6: That’s (armadillo) funny. This front horse is really friendly and walks up close every time I get close to the corral fence. I must have taken 5 or 6 shots and decided to show these two. Horsing around: This is the first time I have ever seen a horse behave this way. Just like you said, it must have been an itchy back that made it belly up. I thought it was going to die but it got up as if nothing happened. Threepeat: This is a sports jargon. It is really hard to 3-peat as a Champion on any major sport. Only the Yankees have ever done it. Horse 14: I chose this shot because the horses are well aware that I am watching them. Just look at their eyes as they pretend that everything is normal. They know there is a stranger in their midst. Again, thanks and God Bless...Ding

Hello again Mary Ann, Thank you so much for your complements on my pictures. I really need to make more time for taking new ones. Lately I've been letting circumstance run my life and I need to regain control. I was so impressed by your photo, "Near and Distant Beauties" in the Rice Terraces of Kiangan collection. The use of the near blossoms to frame the scene is especially pleasing to me. I hope all is well with you and yours. Don
Dear Mary Ann, It is fitting that you closed yesterday's barrage of well wishes for my featured Carlsbad Flower Fields with your re-visit. I sent everybody this quote from Khalil Gibran's "Song of the Flower": "As I embrace Slumber the eyes of Night watch over me, and as I Awaken I stare at the sun, which is The only eye of the day. I drink dew for wine, and hearken to The voices of the birds, and dance To the rhythmic swaying of the grass... But I look up high to see only the light, And never look down to see my shadow. This is wisdom which man must learn." I also particularly like Ellie Friedman's poem on PEACE, and again I quote: "Peace is a flower, Peace is a bird. Peace is the sun, Peace is the moon. Peace is you, Peace is me. Peace is what we want!" Thank goodness our paths crossed some three months ago. God Bless, Ding

Mary Ann, I don't mind at all if you attached some of my comments to your site that you put together, but I do appreciate you telling me about it, at least now I know what you're using it for, educational or otherwise. You've got quite a site there, did some reading into your family history, quite prolific and as a writer, you do quite well...you should push that vocation in your spare time. Question, how much is 500 pesos worth in your country compared to dollars in mine? Thanks again for your contact. ron

I wish you the splendor of that glory in your heart. I wish you to lack never the happiness, neither the faith, neither the hope. I wish you to find the path that you always liked to walk.I wish you them to lack never people that love you of heart. I wish you to be happy my dear friend. hi Mary Ann ... I read your comment on raijomayo (Jesus') album Christ our Redeemer .. where you said you would like to see an album of the resurrection. That is what I have tried to do in my album called IT'S NOT ABOUT BUNNIES ... I have used mostly Biblical scripture on fotos of mine with some hand written words, trying to also depict WHO JESUS is (I am the WAY etc) ... my album is not so serious yet the scriptures speak for themselves and I have been very pleased with the comments on it. Hope you go and check it out! Greetings from California

Hi Mary Ann, Thank you for helping me put the Carlsbad Flower Hill album together. Your critiques were really helpful. The Ranunculus flower is very colorful and pretty but does not emit any scent unlike the rose. Regarding one shot with three perspectives: "It was really windy so to get a good shot and keep these guys focused, the effect you mentioned happenned. I flipped to manual mode, left my apperture wide open (f/3.2) and blasted the shutter at high speed (1/2500)." Your knowledge of flowers and artist's eye in composing pictures have been a big help. You are a wonderful mentor. God Bless, Ding

Yeah, you're right Maryann. Such trees are difficult to maintain, but when the blooms come out - it's our price. I also view your Villa Escudero album and it is such a beautiful album. No wonder, our country is still such a beautiful one - to live with...

Dear Mary Ann, thankyou for taking the trouble to leave me the information about the Mayon Volcano. After such events nature always recovers in the end. Take good care, Pete.

Dearest Mary Ann.....I am thirlled you were able to enjoy so much my album of Apple blossoms. I bet they would grow in your country...your weather cannot be much more different than ours here in Texas....Hot hot hot hot, muggy and very humid...sometimes it's so humid you can cut the air with a knife. Maybe you can plant one of these there and watch it grow. Who knows you can start a trend or something...anyway, thanks for the visit and I am elated you were able to enjoy this album with emmense pleasure. Hugs, Kelli
