Thanks for leaving nice and encouraging remarks in my Red finch's I love you and SD sculptor’s league album. I watched the red finch couple skirmish from my window but did not recognize right away that they were doing the mating dance! I’m sure glad I had that in pictures. With regards the art gallery, I didn’t realize that only one of the many art works I showed were made by men and they are mostly done by women! Thanks for pointing that out. There was a couple (man and woman) working on a Hindu deity “object d arte” when I got there. It was really a treat walking through the gallery and snapping pictures of their work. I appreciate your comments dearly on both albums, my friend. Regards, Ding

Hi Mary Ann. Thanks for visiting my Tijuana estuary album. That estuary is part of 19 bay and river estuaries that millions of shorebirds and water fowls migrate to from North America’s vast western coastline. You posted an interesting and intriguing question of who will thrive years from now: the city in the background (Tijuana, Mexico) or the bird sanctuary. It is not a coincidence that San Diego was a small city when I immigrated here more than 30 years ago. It has now grown quite a bit. For example, I-15 going to Las Vegas used to be 2 lanes all the way but it has now grown to 10 lanes each in some parts. The roads have not caught up with the population growth so traffic is bad during commute times. Thank goodness the sanctuaries are protected so that we cannot encroach upon these birds’ breeding grounds. Hopefully it stays that way forever where birds and human can coexist happily. But I am not so sure what will remain the same 100 years from now. These sanctuaries are protected by law and those are man made. For now, Tijuana is on the other side of the fence so it is safe from that standpoint. However, San Diego from the North can amend its laws to change the preservation of the estuary. I hope this answers your question, my friend.

Mary Ann!! I can't thank you enough for those beautiful words! The detail in which you wrote those comments was amazing. As always you pointed out things in the pictures that I didn't consciously realize (maybe unconsciously I did :p). Seeing all those wonderful comments really made my day :). Thank you very very much! Best Regards, Tausif

Mary Ann, Sorry, it seems like I'm clogging your mailbox now but to answer your question: "The artwork consists of 18 nine-foot-high cast iron headless figures arranged in two rows. Artist Magdalena Abakanowicz said the headless figures derive from the social turmoil she has experienced, as well as the nature of humans as they travel in groups. The 18 figures were individually cast in Poland, with unique markings that ensure no two figures are alike." Source: http://cocktailhour.wordpress.com/2008/02/09/walking-figures-and-barrel-plant/

Mary Ann, Thanks for the helpful and encouraging comments on my Los Penasquitos marsh preserve album. You are absolutely right, that white bird is an Egret, rather than a Heron. Too bad, the preserve is off limits to foot traffic so I have to take the pictures from the peripherals and most of the birds are out of my reach. Regards, Ding

Mary Ann, You were first to like the daisy flower in my album and guess what? It was featured as POTD in Home and Garden today. One of the many benefits I get from this altruistic photosharing hobby is receiving recognition and getting nice comments from other photographers. The other important benefit: meeting new friends. And yes, thanks to Him for allowing me to express my creativity. Have a great day, Ding

Dear Mary Ann, Thanks for visiting my 2008 Spring at the Norfolk Botannical Garden album. I had a feeling you'd like that because of the blooming trees. That is the same week Wash DC had their Cherry Blossom festival. Therefore, it was not a coincidence that the Cherry blossom and other Oriental plum trees in Norfolk, VA were in full bloom and they were in their most radiant splendor. Indeed, spring was in the air and you can smell the fragrant flowers. The butterflies were still absent but I hope to take their pictures when I return there this coming July. Warm regards, Ding

Mary Ann, I am so grateful for your visit earlier this month to my Floral Potpourri album and Silver River State Park album. I usually read my guestbook entries at work when I take a break and plan to answer when I get home. Sometimes that just doesn't happen in an expedient manner! At any rate, I always enjoy hearing from you thank our dear Heavenly Father that our paths have crossed here on WS. Hugs, Carol

Dear Mary Ann, I saw your excellent photos of the civet coffeee house and wonder whether you can help. I am putting together a DVD celebrating the cat in all her aspects and your photos would make a great addition if you would very kindly give me permission to use them. The DVD is partly to help our main cat charity in the UK, Cats Protection. I will of course send you a copy and credit you in the film. Regards to you, Philip Carr
