Thank you for adding a tune to the comments. It really is not the little old lady that is terror on Colorado Blvd. It the teen girl drivers on cell phones and window shopping that scare me.

Aloha Clark, Mahalo a lot for your very kind and quick reply! What you have offered is much more, than I can imagine and I'm very-very grateful for it. I always travel with my wife and kids except for business trip. In this way my whole family enjoy together taking excursion and taking pictures as well. In fact I'm really proud of my kids, who can take interesting and nice shots as well despite their fairly young ages. The options you offered sound really excellent and promise for us an unforgettable vacation. What is your suggestion to discuss the precise timing and activities personally after our arrival, or prepare some preliminary itinary? Do we need any special reservation to visit these extraordinary places? Or just bring our cameras, tripod and hiking shoes? Mahalo for your kindness and help in advance! Gyuri

Clark, your "My Favorites album is a treasure as are your others. WQW, HOW COMMENDABLE;! Congratulations on your very well deserved POD and thanks for sharing. I would like to add that you must be a survivor, with this kind of determination there is not much you can’t succeed at if you make up your mind to do so. Your story has brought to light the downhill spiral that the world has witnessed from the lack of concern for our natural surroundings from generation to generation. I know as a child I was taught to respect the surroundings. It seems that the computer age has neglected to make young minds aware of the destruction of natural beauty and the consequences that are suffered. Thank you again for this wonderful story. I can only hope that people will wake up and understand the hardships that their thoughtless littering causes Mother Nature. If this keeps up there may come a day when all our offspring will see of nature will be pictures taken prior to the waste and destruction.

Aloha Clark, thanks for your message. We've just some basic idea about our vacation. We intend to stay on O'ahu mainly, what we're very interested in: drive around the island with scenery stops, botanical gardens, waterfalls, and of course nice sunset places. Certainly we don't like bothering you, but we'd very welcome any suggestions, guide and if possible some common programs. I'm going to call you on 13th August, but if you've any preliminary thoughts regarding our stay please let us know. Mahalo in advance! Gyuri

Thanks, Clark, for your comment on my recent floral album. It was fun to have pretty posies to shoot while recuperating. I'm back to work now, and thankful that the pathology reports show no malignancy! Hooray! 90% of the kidney is still in tact and working well. God is good!

Howdy Clark, I have been applying the Orton Effect to my photos. It works wonders, especially with those that have weird effects with leaves and such at sky level, softening the edges. I suspect it would also do the same thing with photos where you replace the dull skies with cloud filled skies, but I doubt I will ever be able to try it since I find JPGs do not do as well as RAW images in HDR. As I have no way of replacing the sky in the RAW images before making the HDR, it seems fruitless to me to replace the skies in an HDR photo with skies that were not done in HDR. I guess the only work around would be the HDR the sky photos and then replacing the skies just before applying the Orton Effect. What do you think? Have you tried anything like that. As I am already spending a lot of extra time converting images to HDR and then applying the Orton Effect to them, I am thinking I will have to save the sky replacement for very good scenes except for the bland skies. I am currently just starting my summer vacation, heading to Glacier NP. Am hoping to catch a lot of great scenes to put up in my Redbubble site I just started. Anyway, sorry to be so bad in keeping up with everyone else's efforts, but really got a lot on my plate right now. Now where are you going? I saw oomt's comment about the two of you planning the same trip. Be great if we were all heading for the same destination, wouldn't it? Later- Tiger

Hi Clark, thanks for your visit. I didn't even realize we weren't on each other's friend's list. I guess I got to know you better on RB. Anyway, I'm not on this site much, but I upload when I have the time. The challenges are a hit and miss for me most of the time. But glad we can keep track of each other this way. Take care, Barbara

Hi Clark; Just back from SF and can you imagine my surprise to find that I was featured on the front page the very day after you were featured!!! How AMAZING!! Now, I think that would be one chance in many million that would ever happen.... I am in surprise and delight for this honor, but the very day after you???? Looks like we are both in very good company, my dear friend. hehehe That sound you hear is me in my dancing shoes tripping around. Still a little tired from climbing and hiking 'round my favorite city. Pictures coming soon. Hugs, Marjie

Clark, thanks for the answer to my question. I am still so greatful for the other trick you gave me about using one photo to create HDR shots in Photomatrix. I utilize it more than you can image. I read the Orton Effect tutorial, but use Corel's software. I do understand, however, the layering and merging tricks discussed therein, and have used similar methods to improve my images. I like the screen and multiply filters, but, thankfully in Corel, you can actually scroll down through the filters, getting a look at each one without actually applying it, so it makes it much easier to choose a filter which gives the image the look you want. Of course, like what is used in the Orton Effect, you usually have to combine several different layers to get the right look to your image. Thanks, still, for the pointer, so I could understand the term.

Hi Clark, thanks for asking to be friends, I have always admired your sunset shoots, in fact I think I have seen you on RB is that right? It's a shame you missed the opportunity of the New Zealand experience...you can still always come on holiday to see our paradise, it's a photographers dream. I feel Blessed everyday to live surrounded in such beauty. My husband is more of a fan of the All Blacks rugby team than I am but I do follow their progress with interest. I will do a search for you on RB next time I'm on. Have a great weekend, Kathy

Thanks for the quick response to friendship. I took one trip to Hawaii, and it was for a month. I was in heaven, of course. I always had dreamed of going. I went alone and spent 10 hours a day video taping it. I got some good stuff. I am very excited to view your many beautiful albums. God must love us alot to give us such a beautiful world to call home. I never can thank him enough.

My gosh, Clark. I must becoming a little bit Hawaiian-ized. I even understood a little of that. Thank you for the translation. I would love to come visit in the fall or winter, perhaps. It is going to be such fun discovering your island with you. I am off to SF tomorrow to visit a friend. Hope the weather holds. We have thunder and lightening storms coming in here. Aloha, dear friend.
