Aloha Clark, thank you! The 35th Annual Seabury Hall 2008 Craft Fair in Makawao was fabulous! With on and off again showers and a brilliant early morning blue light, the images have an amazing look about them. With so much activity and people moving about, I shot most of them in automatic portrait settings with sharp focus on the subject and soft focus on the backgrounds, and I am very pleased with the way they turned out. I have about 1200 beautiful shots! I am working on a project and choosing only a few to upload here. The album is up, it is simply set to private until it is completed. I deleted all the images from one of my older less active, virtually ignored, collections and am reloading it. Most of the best ones I am reserving, and hoping to market them to the artists. I can tell you, if it was me, I would want them!! So, that is what I am hoping for. I collected many names, telephone contacts and email addresses......

Thank You, thank you, thank you... you sweet, sweet boy!! I'm purring like a kitten now! Like a HUGE kitten! You should be able to feel the rumble from the purr clear over there! ...the sun was about to disappear behind the mountain and the light was just amazing to take flower shots! I've got more of 'em! I'm FINALLY getting brave enough to try out my polarizing filter! MAN! The colors are astounding! I don't think I'm ever gonna want to take it off! :-) -DJ

I CAN hear you now!!! Cory and I spent about 6 hours adjusting our dish today... What a nightmare!! AND... What a relief! I thought I was SOL for sure!! This whole time I thought I could at least go back to my old modem... BUT... Cory deep-sixed it! You shoulda heard the crying! My internet withdrawals got toooooo bad today and altho he's working like over 12 hours a day trying to get our new house ready to move into (AND when it's done, in hopefully just a couple of weeks, we just have to move the dish and do this all over again) he climbed the pole and we went thru the loooooooooooooooong, horrible process of fine-tuning our signal! He found out that our dish's horizontal brackets aren't like the easy-to-adjust one's that everyone else recently got! He finally had to rig up a turnbuckle and a cable to even be able to make the fine tune adjustments that were necessary.... WHEW!! I just can't believe that the installer's around these parts leave the most frustrating and time-consuming part of the install up to the customer!! You should have heard the #&@% I threw at them today!! You wouldn't believe what we've been thru over this! Anyway.... WHEW!!! I'm back online and it's not EVEN close to being a nice day! I can't begin to tell you how completely relieved I AM!! I'm just a little rung out right now... I WILL be back to look at your "Makana Aloha" album as soon as I can, Dude! -DJ

Hello dear boy!!! Wanted to let you know that I've just finished uploading and tinkering with the rest of the photos for the Brighton Azalea Gardens ... and to bring the link. I sure hope these meet your expectations, hon!! The album was taken over a period of several days, three shoots. If you look closely, you can see a difference in the intensity of light as well as a difference in time of day. To ME .. that's the most interesting part!! Thank you again for your wonderful words of encouragement!!! I truly, truly appreciate them and YOU!!! Have a lovely weekend ... don't forget Sunday is Mother's Day!!! Big hugs ... So you're a surfer! Brave man! I'm a scuba diver, and much happier in the ocean with air strapped to my back thankyou!...Amyway thanks Clark for the tips, I have no problems with constructive advice how else will I learn!!! I agreee with you about the centering too much, and will have to think about this when I take them too as I have to crop pretty heavily so the surfers don't look like miniatures! Looking at the website photos you gave me now.....gracias...someone body surfing...wow...quite a few look a bit washed out colour wise, and there's a few with obviously unlevel horizons...went to a great deal of trouble in photoshop with that one...I can't always get it straight in the excitment of the moment!! very useful and interesting looking at other shots. Some are just superb! My timing is bad on photo contacts though as an ex-teacher friend of mine split up with big wave surfer Rusty Long not so long ago. I used to meet up with them this time every year in Puerto.....oh well... cheers again, Lorraine

oh, and I see you've made another woman ecstatically happy....and Lois is speechless....now that's something!!!!! What a wonderful man you are! Have fun!
said lorrainemx
Wow!!! Clark, muchas, muchas gracias honey, I just go public with my surfing album and I receive your wonderfully supportive message...... thank you sooo much for your kind words, I felt really elated.......I really wasn't sure about the shots as I feel very intimidated on zicatala beach shooting with my 40 - 150 mm package lens surrounded by pro shooters with mega mega size all singing/dancing lenses!!! So I just take large file shots, which allow me to crop mucho, plus the Olympus E510 has a crop factor of x2 anyway because of the smaller/different size sensor, which all helps. Lots of folks do the close-ups anyway, so I'll settle for the more artistic ones!!! ... I live about 2+ hours away from Puerto, and about 40 mins. from Barra de la Cruz, where last year's Ripcurl World champs. was held, though Barra is more difficult for me to get to ironically! Anyway, there WILL BE more shots as I'm hooked.......(at looking at the eye candy too!), though I'll watch the web for when the giant size swells come, and go then. Spent a morning in Puerto a few years ago watching the pros tackle 25 - 40 foot waves....just awesome, breathtaking!!!!! What bravery!! big thankyou once again, you've made my weekend. Have a great one too!! hugs, Lorraine

... that would be "privatize" ... of course ...
said gloridays
Oh, Clark!! Bless you, darlin'!! You found that little place holder shot for my new album, the one i mentioned that I thought you'd like!!! I always "priviatize" new albums until they're ready for prime time ... was late last night when I opened that one ... I must have been half asleep!! But I'm so glad you liked it!!! Yes, this album should be a fun one!! I've been to the azalea gardens twice, and just got back from a third trip this very minute!! In fact, i still have leaves all over my jeans ... and ... I'm a little stinky!! Had over 400 shots, and now have more!!! YOU inspired me with all your eye-candy garden shots, you know!!! Oh my, how am I ever going to pare this baby down to 50ish shots??? I'm soooo excited that you liked that one shot though!!! WHEEEEE!!! You've just made my day!!!! Ok, I'm off to brush off the leaves and dirt and mulch and get back to work!!! Thanks again for dropping by, dear boy!!! Happy hugs ... Lois

Aloha Clark, how are you doing? since we all love photography, I would be pleased if you have time to visit my new album (I love Photography) http://good-times.webshots.com/album/563151773XGAQDK

Clark, thanks for the visit and for the kind words on my pic of the Organ mountains. I sensed in your note perhaps a bit of disappointment in my lack of participation -- hopefully with no anger. Please know that "Time" and "Desire" are often separated lovers, and often through no fault of their own. I'm desperately trying to make my new career work and certainly to shift the great financial burden off of my wife. For 25 years my role was just that, but this new photography venture -- while rewarding, is also challenging too, especially the business and marketing components. So for a while, please know my fondness for this community and for you my friend hasn't changed... just my priorities. All the best Clark, Brent

I'm on... but it's in 'n out right now... hasn't been working since the last time I was on here... Starband, my ISP, apparently did an update to the cluster I'm on which increased speed overall... but the result of that is that you apparently have to have a stronger signal than what we get here in Alaska.... right now.. the skies are clearing up a bit and I'm getting thru... BUT... this won't get fixed till we get someone out here... -DJ
