Got MORE problems than just weather... I don't know EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED..... BUT EVERYONE HERE, except one household, has lost our satellite internet access! Mine just came back on unexpectedly.... don't know for how long.... been out since Wed. morning, April 30... hopefully I'll be able to stay on but in case I can't it may be a week or two BEFORE we can get a tech out here to fix us up.... don't hold your breath! -DJ

.... meee again!! Quick note to let you know, I just got an email from DJ ... her service has been on the blink again. She had a weak signal and wanted to let me know what was going on, and asked me to pass the word along!! So, she's okay ... just frustrated!!!

Dearest Clark!!! You MADE my DAY with all your lovely comments on "Snapshots of Springtime"!!! Yeoman's work, as my Daddy used to say!!! Lots of shots ... (I'm a madwoman with the camera, but so picky! Lately I'm not happy with enough of what I shoot to fill an entire album ... hence the conglomeration you witnessed today!) I really appreciate you schlogging through them!!! You mentioned the rifle over the front door ... I'll take a pic of it for you. It belongs to my husband and is a replica of an old muzzle loader. We actually have a period one as well which is pretty spectacular. TONZ of photos of that one. If you like, I'll ask Richard the details behind each. I had to laugh when you broke into song re the airplane shot!!! Now, I have to know ... was that the John Denver version you were singing or the Peter, Paul and Mary?? (The PP&M version is much better, even though John Denver IS my HERO. Or ... was.) Thanks again, Clark!!!! I really loved having you come by and visit!!!!!!!! Here's wishing you and your loved ones a spectacular and happy weekend!!! Hugs ... Lois

Thank you!!!! I had so much fun doing it!!! It actually turned out quite wonderful. I completely erased the background on my portrait taken in Alaska at Chena Hot Springs by my seven year old grand daughter, my darling honey girl Raven, which explains the delight in my eyes as I am gazing at her for I love her so much!!!!! And I layered it as a raster over a shot I took a few days ago on Ho'okipa of the amazing mist and vog sunset. Then I desaturated it and added a lavender filter. Yet I am reluctant to upload the full size version. What do you think? Perhaps I could place it into my digital art collections. How I wish there was someone to take my photo. I am always out alone and there is no one here yet I know well enough to trust with my camera. I suppose I could do it with my tripod.

I just wish I'd thought of whipping up a bunch of shaped cakes and taken ordinary shots of them so that I could have had a feature barely a month after I became a FREE member!! :) -DJ

Hi Clark, thanks for your always welcomed comments on my latest spring photos. I took a few more around the neighborhood yesterday but I don't have them up yet. Wanted to go back to the arboretum but after my last shoot, I've had the worst allergy problems I've had in my life! The pollen count here is the highest it has been in nine years so I guess that's the culprit. Hopefully the potential frost we might get tonight will take care of that! Thanks for the advice on the camera, etc. I wouldn't have money for a zoom lens till Christmas anyway. I was surprised to find out how much the polarizer filter cost! I have Photoshop Elements 3.0 that I've had for several years and for some strange reason, I've never learned how to use. I somehow just didn't get around to it. I just used whatever basic editing software was already on my pc. I know there's newer versions out now but I might as well wait till I learn how to use this one! It's already loaded on my pc, I just need to get myself in gear and play with it. I even have the Classroom in a Book (with software). <smacks self upside the head> Maybe it's because I kind of feel like it's cheating to adjust the colors, etc. but then again if photography is an art form, then there's nothing wrong with it. :-)

Hello Clark, yes I will walk down the path of flowers in a little while, have to finish up something first. Aren't you going to check out my spring flower album? <pout> ;-) BTW, I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the Canon EOS 40D this week! I'm excited about getting and using it. The camera shop has two different kits, one with the EF-S 17-85mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens and the other with the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. I think I'm going to get it with the 17-85mm now and when I save up more money get a zoom lens, either the Canon EF 70-300mm F/4-5.6 IS USM, or the camera shop guy (who owns Canon cameras and loves them) seemed to like the Tamron AF28-300mm f/3.5-6.3 XR DI for Canon EOS (I think that was the one). What do you think?

Heey Clarkth! How are you doing? I like the pic of you, the one that you are wearing blue and white and you look like you are taking a pic! I just got home from a long walk, took my camera with me, and didn't take any pic. Didn't see any thing I like to shoot. Take care.
