Hi Clark, Disney has a way of putting an amazing smile on everyone face. Unless you take a ride on one of those crazy things. I was scared to death. Thank you for the lovely comment. I want to come back later and view your albums. Have a magical day... Susan...:)

Hey Clark... hope all goes well. Thanks for your comments on my challenge entry. I also wanted to mention that I think I figured out the answer to a haunting question that was posed regarding how constant the change is in the point at which the sun sets, and also if the angle of the sun's descent changes. Feel like checking the logic in my narrative under my ANGLE OF DESCENT photo in THE MARCH OF THE SETTING SUN album? -Randy http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2301633770051354762OaIRdQ?vhost=outdoors

Thanks so much, my friend Clark! It will be kind of you to write me. The flood of emails and messages surrounding my featured album challenge entry for Yosemite just happened to coincide with a very busy summer vacation time, resulting in my being unable to respond in a timely way to all who were kind enough to write, but I do appreciate your words of encouragement. There were many photos in that challenge as good or better than mine, but I appreciate the recognition, especially from my fellow photographers from around the world. Thanks for helping me celebrate this very special event. Regards, your friend, Meeli I soo your pictures about Hawaii, and falled in love...Such a great work.

Kealohapumehana Clark! I just found your comment buried beneath a huge pile of emails I have been working my way through the past few days..... the one in Darkly, deeply, beautifully blue on Maunaleo ~ Journey With Spirit ~ Keali'i Reichel..... your message is so wonderful! I cannot tell you how much it means to me! And yes, it is a sincere tribute to a man I have tremendous respect for and whose voice, the first time I heard it, moved me to tears it is so beautiful! His work with the kaiki, the children of Hawai'i, in preserving Hawaiian heritage and his teachings of traditional mele and authentic Hawaiian hula chants and dance is fantastic, and yes, it would be such an amazing honour if he used that image of Wa'ianapanapa I created especially for him on an album cover! Wow! That would be a dream for I am so sincere. Mahalo A nui loa e lokahi!! Hey, Clark, good to hear from you. How kind of you to write such generous remarks! The flood of emails and messages surrounding my third place challenge entry for sunrises/sunsets just happened to coincide with a very busy portion of my work schedule, resulting in my being unable to respond in a timely way to all who were kind enough to write, but I DO appreciate your words of encouragement. There were many photos in that challenge as good or better than mine, but I appreciate the recognition, especially from my fellow photographers from around the world. Thanks for being one of them, and for helping me celebrate this very special event. Regards, your friend, Fred

Wow, Clark it sounds like you are in for a very exciting photo shoot as well as a very exciting evening. Can't wait to see the results. I have to check out bjclark's albums yet. Had a peek the other day but was at work so didn't pursue it, but will now. your friend, Marion

Hi Clark, It would be great to get to see the Perseid meteor showers while we are in Hawaii. Though not finalized yet, I think the last 4 days of our trip we will be staying in Kailua, just up the street form Lanikai. I have no clue where the bunkers are in Lanakai, but I'd love to get a chance to check them and out and meet you. You can contact me at ran.kris@msn.com and we can get something worked out. Randy

Hi, Clark! Thanks so much for your nice comments on my little "book." The book was born as a result of a gift certificate I received from my nieces and nephews for Christmas a couple of years ago. My book isn't published...I had two copies published, on a two for one deal by MyPublisher.com. I still have plans to add to the book, and dreams of someday publishing it for real. I will be returning to your site to check out your photos. Hawaii is one of only two states I've never visited...Oklahoma being the other. Therefore, I am really looking forward to viewing your albums!

Me again, just thinking about your last message to me as I was preparing for bed and can't crawl in until I get this said. Your comments in no way offended, but rather delighted me. I too entered the challenge although I didn't think I would win. (would have been nice though). The three entries that the judges picked were truly beautiful, but that in no way takes away from the beauty of your pictures. My favorite ones of yours are the ones that you have taken from your back door. They are enchantingly beautiful and in my eyes and I am sure in the eyes of many others you are still a winner. Just start another album and awe and delight us with your masterful photography. After all you are taking pictures of God's artistry...how could you possible go wrong. Take care Clark...hugs, Marion

Hi Clark, thanks for all of your interesting, funny and nice comments on my album. The panoramic view was done with my little Canon that has a Stitch Assist mode and of course the Canon software enables you to stitch them together. These were my first attempts. The gold spot in the ocean in that one picture? Me thinks is was probably a reflection in my lens off the sun. Other than that I have no idea. Glad you liked my old photos. Ray was born in 1935....will celebrate his 72nd birthday in a few days and I was born in (this is where I put my hand over my mouth and mumble) 1939. We are both still working and no one believes me when I tell them how old I am anyhow. Ray drives cab and I work in a credit union. Life is good and we try to keep active. My oldest daughter turns 45 tomorrow and she just became a grandmother last December, which makes me, yup, you guessed it, a great grandma. Take care and have a wonderful week.....your friend, Marion

Hi there, Clark! Well as you suggested I enjoyed my day in the sun (or many days I should say...:D) and now I stopped to thank you for your kind words on my POTD from my London Album Magical Nights and Days at the Thames. What a thrill not only to be able to enjoy this wonderful city and capture it’s beauty but also to be honoured by having this Magical Moment on the Thames at night featured! Thanks so very much, I am happy you enjoyed it too! Have a fantastic day and aloha! Marita

Hello again from the southern Oregon coast, Clark! Thanks so much for the compliments on my Sunset Challenge entries! I am very grateful that you took a moment of your valuable time to say something nice! I feel so fortunate to live on the Oregon coast where there are so many nice sunsets! And right now I am real busy responding to emails from having my album BEAUTIFUL ICE SCULPTURES featured on Webshots home page today! What an amazing response I am getting! I am actually quite humbled by it all but very excited at the same time! Thanks again! -Randy

Hi, there, Clark! Thanks for leaving the comment on my photo, "sunset over the punta del capo and ischia". It was taken with a 300mm zoom lens from the balcony outside my hotel room. I've never been to the US, let alone Hawaii, but there's a pretty reasonable paradise here in the Bay of Naples, which is only a 3.5 hour flight from rainy cold old London Town. Thanks for you comment: it's great that people find the time to leave messages. Makes me smile. Cheers from Nic in London.

Hi Clark (if that is, in fact, your first name); thank you for your comments on my sunset entries. They mean a lot to me because I've enjoyed your photos too. We went to HI in 1984 to celebrate our 25th anniversary, so if you do your math, you'll see we're only 2 years from our 50th! *smile* ... My husband has a cousin on Oahu and while she's tooooo far away, we also appreciate the 'Paradise' she and you live in !!! ... Take care, Judy

Thank you for your kind comments on my photos for the "Sunsets" challenge. Yes, I would have liked to enter the two photos for the Silhouette Challenge, but I took them a day after the challenge ended, while on holidays. I know they're not the traditional Sunset/Sunrise picture, but thought this would be my only way to share them, now that a silhouette challenge has already been done. Saying that, now...you have some awesome sunset/sunrise pictures! Well done!

Hello, Thank you for commenting on the Pearl Harbor Pics.I appreciate that you were able to tell me things about the pictures also.I was emailed these pics from a friend who was told they were found in an old Brownie camera in a foot locker.I don't know if she knew the person or not. I like a bit of this kind of history. Have a good day. Linda

Thanks for the message fellow sun-follower! I just got a compass to start measuring the change in where the sun sets, but it disappears from view from our yard in the fall. So I might have to find a spot where there is year-around viewing possible. I suppose I could just look it up, but what fun would that be? I found it fascinating that you've observed the rate of movement of the point it sets at changing. I'll have to think about that one. We know if changes directions, so at some point for however long it has to be standing still. Maybe it works up to that point by slowing down. Thanks again for the comment. -Randy
