Oh, well, thank you Clark! But my note to you was not intended for my sunset image, I was speaking about the person who contacted me on my image in Chi-Hoota-Wei ~ Many Fires, One Great Light ~ Alaska. The titles and quote commentaries in this collection are Lodge names and translations of Order of the Arrow Insignia ~ with Links to websites with more information on First Nations ~ American Native Tribes. This member left a note on this sunset image I titled "Spe-Le-Yai ~ Song of the Coyote (Shoshone) ~ Alaska Sunset Reflections Chena Lakes" with an update on the website address www.lemhi-shoshone.com and more information on this tribe. When I visited this member's profile I discovered they just joined Webshots and uploaded a new album on this subject. I am assuming, but almost certain that they were inspired by my collection to scan and publish their images and it is related!!! I think that is so wonderful!! So we have now opened a dialogue!! This is what I was trying to convey to you.

Oh yeah, and by the way, just in case you were wondering, it's too darn cold to take 'new' winter pictures here in Alberta this weekend! The air temperature is -28C, it is snowing like crazy and with the windchill it is a horrifying -44C right now. I think I would rather be in Oahu!

Hi Clark, I entered the frosted window picture in the Winter challenge. Thanks for the encouragement! Roxanne

Dear Clark, I am going through your many WONDERFUL comments on my newest Brooksville Raid photos and I appreciate every one of them. You are most complimentary. ... as for the WWI photos, you asked about the "Dakota" and I'm not sure what you thought. The photos were taken either in Massachusetts, or Connecticut - probably the former. The building in the photo you asked about said C. C. Fuller; I don't have any information on it.

Hi Clark, thanks for stopping by on my picture about Antelope Canyon that has been featured in the Travel channel today (01/16/08). It was a real surprise to me! Antelope Canyon is one of the most amazing canyons I visited during my Tour on the US West Coast! I took this picture with my camera parked on a tripod. You really need to use a tripod in the canyon because you need a really long shutter time to create the warm colors! I really appreciate it that you took the time to write a comment on this picture! I hope you will visit me again! Best regards, Brendan (PhotoDucky) PS: I searched for Peter Lik. I have seen the picture you told me about and it is really amazing. I really appreciate that you like my picture almost the same as you like the picture from Peter Lik!

Happy New Year Clark, Thanks for your kind words on my photo additions to WS last year. I got a new DSLR camera for Christmas and have taken my first shots with it in a trip to Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. If you get a chance, I'd love to hear your thoughts on some of my shots. I tried experiments with long exposures, burst shooting, and others. Check them out if you get a chance...and Blessings for 2008. Thanks, Ray.

Hi Clark; I was talking to Sharon and I know how much she is longing to come to Hawaii, so I created a little alter for her in the corner of my office. I hope you will come and take a peek at the photo and my little tribute to her and leave a wish and a prayer that will speed her journey back to where her heart knows is home. Warm wishes, Marjie http://good-times.webshots.com/photo/2228035150036306757sfsylB

Dear Clark! Thank you for your warm and kind comments on my "Moscow and Kremlin" featured album! They are so encouraging and much appreciated. It's a real pleasure for me to read them! I spend my New Year vacation in Egypt and Jordan and it was a real temperature contrast of +23C there and -28C in Russia! I invite your to visit my new album - Munich, Germany: http://travel.webshots.com/album/562107362MaiHYM?vhost=travel Good luck! From Russia with love, Alexander.

Oh Clark! That is my DREAM!!!! A photographer friend of mine from Ketchikan, Chip Porter, just published a mighty fine coffee table book called "Misty Fjords National Monument Wilderness." My cousin seems to think I should but I just don't think my stuff is good enough yet... My husband's photographer teacher from here thinks I shouldn't put anything up here because it could be stolen... again... I don't think it's good enough to steal. I'm just sooooo proud that you think my work is THAT good! What an honor!! *sniff sniff* I think I'm going to cry from your sweet encouragement! -DJ

OH! You ARE tooooo kind!! Thank you so much! I really HATE to be such a bother but I put a sunrise that I think will rock your world!! For some reason I had been overlooking it and was well on my way with another of the fall sunrises that I couldn't get uploaded because of weather! Now I've got my new modem and just the snow blizzards seem to be a problem. Anyway... It's here http://travel.webshots.com/album/562055247mRyxDE The birds always come when they see me because they think I'm going to feed them! Someimes they just mess it up but they were a quite an enhancement on this day! -DJ

Clark, you really are a great friend here. I see that I recently had a POTD and now need to respond. Boy I wish Time was a commodity you could purchase. I really don't know when I'm going to find the time and I'm sure everyone is going to swear me off.. couldn't blame them. But I did want to at least visit with you and a few others. The day of my POTD was the one year anniversary of my Mom's passing. I spent a lot of time that day reflecting on the past year and the memories of an amazing woman. That little picture has an ease to it which I'm gradually finding myself at, when it comes to missing her. She was also a "respite" in my life. Anyway, thank you my friend for visiting. I did notice you also stopped by my small album on San Diego. With apologies to the naming of the lighthouse; (Cabrillo, not Point Loma) I couldn't remember the actual name, what a magnificent locale to drink in. I've only been to two lighthouses in my life, so this was a real treat. Anyway, I hope your Christmas in paradise was joyous. I don't know how much activity I will find myself here at WS in '08, but I do know I need to come and visit my Hawaiian compadre from time to time. All the best Clark, Brent.
