Thank you so very much for your appreciative message! It pleases me greatly when I hear that people enjoy my work. I'll come and take a look at yours. One of my dreams is - still - to visit the Hawaian islands one day. Friendliest regards from around Yokohama, Yoshiyuki Tanaka

Hey Clark, I saw your post, but that thumb is way too small (smaller than a stamp) for any feedback. Any chance you have the pic in one of your albums? I did look thru your Hawaii sunsets albums and left some comments. Beautiful work. I would be willing to offer any help on a pic....are you sure you want to do this? lol. Let me know, Brent.

Thanks for commenting and the info on my entry (moon and Star). I've been wondering which star or planet that is. It's been shinning so bright and due west every night. Thanks again. Take care, Donna

Hi Clark. An other challenge out of the way and a new in the wings. We've got keep thinking "creative" in these challenges. How did I do it? Two ways....zoom while taking photo. In this case in photoshop I selected the outer edge of the fountains and applied a zoom effect. Cheers for your warm comments. Bernard.

Clark, I saw your comment on the guys from the 90th Division. Each of those men exude grace and dignity that would take me 3 lifetimes to develop...Greatest generation indeed. That pic was taken at Versailles (sp?). We went to Europe in the summer of 2004, specifically to visit the Normandy coast and to be there for the 60th Anniversary of D-Day. I'm a huge WWII buff. Anyway, I had hoped that history would somehow come alive in my two teenage daughters on this trip. Surprisingly it did. Both of my girls listened to the stories these men had to share. At the end of the conversation, they each walked up to each of the gentleman and embraced them and thanked them for their sacrifice. Several of the old guys had tears swell in their eyes, as well as in my daughters eyes too. They continued to do this whenever we met any of the Vets during our stay. I am so very proud of both of them and thankful that this trip had an amazing impact on them. Of course they still shopped for handbags from street vendors in Paris and throughout Italy... hey, they're still girls! See ya around, Clark.

Hey Clark, (like that name, but where's the 'e?')... ;) thanks for visiting over on my side, and for the kind comments. I would love to live in your neighborhood with my Camera...Hawaii is just so beautiful. FYI, the one pic in Colorado was captured on the Million Dollar Highway between Durango and Telluride. I was on my home and had hoped for better light and to have had more time on the shoot. But the good Lord gave me that end of Day sunset, so the credit is all His. See ya around, and thanks again. A battleship full of "Hellos" to you from the southern coast of Oregon, USA! I wanted to let you know I REALLY appreciated your comment on my winning RWB Challenge lighthouse entry STANDING TALL. Your comment meant a lot to me, so many THANK YOUs to you! I also wanted to mention that I have been doing what I think is a fascinating photo-documentary of how rapidly the point at which the sun sets on the horizon is moving southward since the summer solstice. I added a new comparison photo today in my APPRECIATION! album on page 10, photo number 111. It compares a July 5th sunset to the July 12th sunset last night. There is also an earlier comparison on page 8, photo number 95, that compares June 21 to July 5th. It is really quite amazing how much change there is in such a short period of time. Also... if you like lighthouses, I have several albums on them that I think you would really enjoy. Thanks again! -Randy

Hi Clark. Thank you so much for your uplifting words on my pictures. I love it when another Webshot member acknowledges where the beauty in the sunsets and sunrises and the flowers come from. I very much appreciated them and then the bonus of course was to find your two albums. Your sunset, sunrise one is outstanding.....Marion, from Vancouver Island, BC (just across the water from you)

Thanks for leaving a comment on my album "Royal Welcome", the horse guard in front of the Grand Palace in Bangkok. You're right, I was in the right place at the right time. Quite by accident. I was playing guide for a friend from NYC and as we were leaving the National Museum, this spectacular cavalry appeared. I don't know if it was a dress rehearsal or the real thing, in preparation for a royal ceremony at the Grand Palace. In any case, it was a scene as opulent as anything in any version of THE KING AND I.

Thanks for leaving comments on a couple of photos in my album on Singapore. You mentioned Sentosa Island, and said it's "another photographer's dream location." I've never been there. Next time I'm in Singapore I'll definitely go there. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks so very much for your kind comments on my "Sunset Riders" photo-of-the-day yesterday. It is these wonderful comments from people like you that make all the efforts in uploading these photos worthwhile. All the responses I've received have been truly humbling. To brighten someone's day a little, or bring a smile to their face, or bring some of the incredible beauty of nature into their world, is the most I could ever hope for from my photographs. I plan on visiting everyone's albums who left a message, but the response has been so overwhelming that it will take me awhile, especially since I'm on dial-up! BTW - I have uploaded a few new sunset photos tonight if you are interested in viewing them: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/558831654CrnHtw Thanks again! -Randy (Oregon/USA)

Aboard the Mai Tai Catamaran :) is my "secret" to this shot. Using the zoom and the auto feature of the Canon A540, then cropping and grey scale in digital editing... But it did start raining shortly after so I had to put the camera away :) Thanks for your comment, I miss the beach!
