Hey Clark, a quick note to let you know I got your message. It sounds like you are in for quite the adventure in the coming days. I hope you have a blast and get some really memorable shots. When you get a little time, I'd be interested in your background. It sounds like you are not only familiar with the process of capturing still images, but moving ones as well. Take care my friend, Brent.

Good Morning Clark; Wow! How exciting for all of the things that are coming up for you and your photo opportunities. I am beside myself with excitement for you and always look forward to seeing more of your photos, but these are all very special features and I will certainly pass on your name to more family and friends who love Hawaii. Also, I wanted to tell you that one of my photos is featured today in the Lanscaping channel. I am so excited with that album already being my most popular album with nearly a quarter of a million views. I just love picket fences and even have a few that I found on Maui that are in that album as well. http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/tag/landscaping Havew a lovely day and I will be back soon. Hugs, Marjie

Okay Clark, give it up. I can understand how you know about White Sands, Carlsbad Caverns...even Rat Patrol -- although my favorite was Combat -- Go Little John. But when you throw out Ruidoso, especially with the right spelling and the Davis Mountains, there is a reason you know about my corner of the world. Either you are a Google Freak, were stationed nearby (Navy in the desert?), or your old man packed you into the Ambassador station wagon one year for a family vacation in the desert southwest. I'm waiting to find out. By the way, I have a really old album here called Cloudcroft Colors 2003--which is in the Sacramento's, the adjoining range of the Lincoln's where Ruidoso is situated. Something tells me you already knew that........Sgt Sumners, coolest GI that ever lived!

In our neck of the woods Aloha becomes Hola -- so an Hola to you my friend. Thanks for the visit to my White Sands album Clark and your compliment. To answer your question, I used a circular polarizer (left my ND at home,,,urrgg) and applied it to the brightest part of the sunset. I then metered my exposure using the sand... hoping it wouldn't allow the sky to overexpose, with a setting of -1/3stop down. Got lucky. I did have to bring the level of the sand up in PS, but only about 10% I did apply a bit over vignetting on the outside of the sand to make it a little more dramatic... at least that was the thinking. Thanks for stopping by. Talk to you soon, Brent.

Hi Clark,I would just like to give you a most sincere thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of the amazing comments that you left on my photos today. You were totally 'on' when you asked if I follow my kids around with the camera, sometimes I do...if just for that one shot I can get when they don't know I'm watching them. Sometimes I think that my sole motivation for taking these pictures is because in this busy life of working and raising these beautiful four children of mine, I want them to have wonderful happy memories and forget about all the times that Mom is pulling out her hair, refereeing, threatening, lecturing and all the other things that Mom's need to do from time to time.... In any case, we have way more good times than bad and I am so very blessed to be able to witness this miracle of watching these little guys grow up into wonderful little people who are all so very different in their own ways that it is a constant source of amazement to me. Again, thank you for your words and I am so happy that these images brought a smile to your face. Roxanne

'Ae, me too, everytime I open it my firewall starts flagging!!!! I use it mostly for communicating with my identical twin sister Karon. She has an account here on Webshots but she does not enjoy this forum. Myspace if managed properly is a wonderful forum where we may be more of ourselves than within such a restricted environment. I am happy to meet you there!! My profile is set to Private to protect my account. I will send you a friends invitation now!! It will be fascinating to see how you express yourself there, and I think you will be delighted to see how I express myself there as well. It is fun!! Sharon

Hi Clark, thanks so much for your last message. I'm grateful that you think I am a good photographer, lately I have not been feeling that way about my photos. However, in a week's time we are leaving for a tour of the Oregon Coast and I hope to come back with some really good shots. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Just wanted to let you know that I love your photography and always love your comments on mine. I was trying to be funny about rowing all night to Hawaii, was trying to give you a giggle. Hope I did. Have a really good day, talk to your soon, your pal, Marion
