Hi Clark! Hey brother, I hope you took no offense about the Diamond Head shot. I just didn't see any of the sky colors reflected in the water and was curious. Please know, as I said when visiting, I thought this latest group of pictures were amazing! Again, mucho apologies if my question came about with a different tone. Aloha, Brent.

Aloha Clark!! In my collection Darkly, deeply beautifully blue and my image 'The Colours of Her Music' with a poetry quote by author Imogen Rhia Herrad ~ She contacted me on that image!! Isn't that awesome!! I love it! It is exactly this reason why I give credits to the authors I quote, for I so admire their work and wish to share their beautiful words of poetry with my viewers. And I am so happy to see that she has discovered this today and left a message of contact for me, it is quite wonderful!! Sharon ~ http://outdoors.webshots.com/photo/2907777430052197924uFgSiN

Thanks for your kind words about the photos of the Roluos Group of temples in Angkor. Glad you liked the one of the monks leaving Bakong Temple as a tour group is arriving. It wasn't East meets West -- the tourists were Japanese -- so much as spirituality meets materialism or forever meets today. I was lucky in that I'd been alone on the grounds and was leaving behind the monks as the group was arriving.

Count on prayers for Dylan, my friend!! Please let him know there are prayer "Warriors" in Texas that will be lifting him up. Clark, please pass along our deepest gratitude to him for serving. Talk about a reason to be a proud father -- I salute you and your son my friend! -Brent.

'Ae, I also love the pastels, pretty pinks, lavender and gold, they are my favourite colours with the sunsets, so soft and beautiful, and here in Interior Alaska, so rare! I always feel blessed when I see the soft pastels!

Come on Clark, it's easier to say "Miners" than "Rainbow Warriors"... oh yeah, you can't say Rainbow anymore. I forgot the "PC Age" we live in. So, all references will be the Bows. By the way, I was so sick and tired of y'all kickin' our bahonkas year in and year out on the football field. Can I say Bahonkas?? Anyway the Bows sure have had some great QB's. Although when we had the Bear, we owned you guys on the hardwood!! Truth be known, I can't imagine a more beautiful place to grow up and to go to school, than your island of paradise! You are a good friend for allowing me to rip ya a bit and for the time you spend visiting and leaving well wishes! And yes, children are indeed a rich inheritance from our Creator! If memory serves me, didn't you say your son was serving our country? What's your boys name Clark? I would like to add him to our prayer requests -- for safety and blessings. Best regards, Brent.

Aloha Kalaka! Your sincere comments are delightful to read Clark, and I love your positive feedback, it is validating and encouraging to know you appreciate my work, which is evolving. My images today are completely different than two years ago as I study and learn new techniques and discover interesting ways to use the creative modes on my camera. Thank you for your visit to Chi-Hoota-Wei ~ Many Fires, One Great Light ~ Alaska Sunset, the dazzling beauty of Alaska skies reflecting in Chena Lakes and the information provided on First Nations ~ American Indian Tribes, their history and culture. Each day in Interior Alaska we are losing daylight by about 7 minutes. In the Land of the Midnight Sun, midnight sun only occurs during summer. In winter it is the Land of Perpetual Darkness (those are my descriptive words, perhaps I should copyright them! ;))). Summer solstice is the beginning of winter for Alaska, this year 21 June 2007 being the longest day of the year. Everyone is reminded upon celebrating summer solstice while lamenting the realisation that from this day forward day's are quickly becoming shorter. Nature's gauge ~ the fireweed has topped out and blown seed, winter's herald that soon Interior Alaska will be plunged into perpetual darkness as the earth spins and rotates on her axis and Alaska faces away from the sun for many months of deep subarctic extreme cold. So each day I greet the sun in salutations enjoying her bright warmth! The clouds and pretty colours reflected in Chena Lakes are so magical, as the lake is usually so calm it appears as smooth as glass with slight ripples from fish, beaver, toads, loons, ducks and other waterfowl, mirroring the sky so perfectly it appears as two universes, like a portal to another dimension. It is always a pleasure to hear from you Clark, and I wish you and your family a fantastic day! Sharon

Hi again Clark; Hope I am not being too much of a pest. LOL! I went to see the websites of John Pitre... he is a fabulous artist and I am certain I have seen his work along with Walfrido Garcia's work at Wyland Galleries in Lahaina. Looking forward to going back and looking at that video and seeing more of his work. I was actually first enchanted by Maramasu Kudo at Lahaina Galleries by could not really afford to buy the painting that I fell in love with, I still went back every single day to look at it and study it. It is the cat family on gold leaf. It is 96 inches long by 19 inches high. I would have to cash in my retirement to buy it. What I did buy was an original oil painting by Mario Campanile and I love all of his work. He has so many art forms and actually lives on Maui. Since my trip to Hawaii, I have bought one of his pieces called "The Conversation" that is a signed giclee only 15 of those but also comes with a signed book. Also another called "Stargazer" that is a serigraph. I also bought a signed and numbered serigraph by Maramasa Kudo called "Wicker Basket" and I love that one... it has the Japanese woman in a kimono on the beach with the waves and shells. It is awesome. I will take a picture of that and post it on Webshots later on today. I hope you have a wonderful day. Marjie

Hi Clark; Thank you for your sweet words about my Lahaina sunset. I stayed at the Lahaina Inn, my first trip by myself since I rode the train to San Frnacisco when I was 18. I had a great time and met lots of people. I took pictures around the island during the day and just soaked up the Aloha spirit. Visiting those art galleries at night got me in trouble though. Now I am collecting art as well. I also wanted to thank you for the comment on the Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach, Carmel. How amazing that your brother painted that very same scene and gave it to you as a gift. Does he still paint? There was a lot of fog while I was there and I took that photo at sunset, so I was starting to loose the light. I would love to go back in October or November because there is more wave action and often more dramatic clouds. Thank you for your visits. Warm Wishes, Marjie

Clark, it's not hard to compete with me at all, but good luck certainly will make one look special! Thanks so much for your generous comment on my recent challenge winner and subsequent POTD. Your words mean so very much. Several have asked about this photo, so here's the low down. No, I didn't hang on the wing of the plane, but I was blessed with the cleanest windows in my entire flying career, just spotless! Though the atmosphere was very dirty near the ground, as we ascended from Denver to Salt Lake City, the air got very clear and clean, another blessing. This shot was made over Utah, I think, but it could be Colorado you're seeing, so residents of both states can probably claim this interesting landscape. Farmers who coax crops from this hostile land with irrigation and perspiration have my undying respect. Again, thanks so much for your support and kindness; both are appreciated more than you know. Regards, Fred

Clark, how goes it? I read your comments on my Rome album, thanks my friend -- really very kind of you. Yes, I have more than 2 pics, just slow at getting them posted. I think I'm up to 5, at this rate the album should be a go sometime in March of '09! Clark, have you divulged your last name? As a kid I got kidded all the time, they would change the Brent Clarke to Clark Kent and, well, I guess you know where this is headed. True for you? Anyway, I met and married a gal who kicks the snot out of Louis Lane when it comes to looks, integrity, grace and beauty, plus she can make up some serious eats in the kitchen -- my belly can shout out an Amen to that! So in the long run, I was blessed in a "Super" sort of way. Well enough of these ramblings, just thought I'd stop and say a Texas aloha (howdy, but with a little attitude). By the way, since you worked on the Big Mo... the film maker Ken Burns is doing a weeks worth on WWII on PBS sometime this September. I'm sure your ship will get some airtime. If I get the date I'll pass it along. See ya, -Brent
